20 held in crack down on banned outfits in S Punjab
LAHORE: Twenty suspects including former Amir of Sipah-e-Sahaba have been rounded up in Southern Punjab during a police crack down on banned outfits.
According to police sources, nine people including former Amir Sipah-e-Sahaba Tanvir during raids in different parts of Southern Punjab.
In Bahawalpur, six people were apprehended due to their suspected links with outlawed outfits while five were nabbed in Bahawalnagar. One of the arrested belongs to Jaish-e-Muhammad group, two to Millat-e-Islamia and 8 hail from Sipah-e-Sahaba.
