d3e05f1ed4sumed1 5,000MW Power Shortfall; Long Outages ResumedISLAMABAD PAKISTAN : Power shortfall has reached 5,000MW creating a gap of 4500megawatts between supply and demand, which resulted into 15-hour long outages on daily basis across the country.

The demand of electricity has been reached 13,958MW whereas production stands at 9,420MW. The Hydel Power Plants are generating 2,411MW where Thermal Power Plants 2,315megawatts.

The IPPs are producing 4694megawatts. The KESC has been supplied 617megawatts power in view of the demand in Karachi. The thermal power house operating under Wapda has got 2-day furnace oil, Kepco 5-day, Hubco 1-day and AES Lal Peer Plant got oil reserves for half day.
