President Asif Ali Zardari-1Karachi, Pakistan news:- President Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday said power belongs to people, adding that a leader had to go to public to become a people’s leader.

Addressing a central ceremony of PPP’s 43rd anniversary, Zardari said PPP’s government had for the first time sought pardon from the people of Balochistan and given them Balochistan empowerment package. He stressed the need to bring all issues to parliament instead of accusing any party. “Today, if we have power, it’s because the public have given mandate to Pakistan People’s Party. Now the government has right to complete its tenure.” Accusing the media for efforts to destabilize the system he said, “We are proud that nobody except ‘political actors’ want to derail the system.”

President said, “we are happy to see public gatherings of opposition parties also as this is real democracy, wherever we see democracy, we see Bhuttoism.” He said people who used to receive money for public appearance, now had to visit slums to get votes as Bhuttoism had empowered the people of this country. “Pakistan has been stabilized by PPP and we will continue to do so. Our own existence and politics of every kind is bound with Pakistan’s existence,” he added. Zardari said he often listen to public opinion and act accordingly even sitting in the Presidency. He congratulated the public for successfully holding Gilgit-Baltistan elections. “Even there we hear slogans of Jiay Bhutto, and we receive votes because of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto even today.”Zardari said, “Why Benazir Bhutto came to Pakistan despite knowing that her life was in danger, she just came to save Quaid-e-Azam’s Pakistan.”
