Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has arrived in India on a two-day trip, amid a row over attacks against Indian students studying in Sydney and Melbourne.
Rudd’s trip comes less than a month after his foreign minister, Stephen Smith, visited India to issue assurances that the government was taking steps to protect the students.
The racial assaults have strained ties between the two nations, with India demanding protection for its 95,000 students in Australia.
Russ will meet his Indian counterpart Manmohan Singh and local business leaders.
