BB Murder Case Hearing Refused By LHC

LAHORE, PAKISTAN: A judge of Lahore High Court hearing the petition for the registration of FIR of Benazir Bhutto’s assassination case against former president and three others has refused to hear the case.

Justice Asif Saeed Khosa told the court room Monday that he would not hear the case filed by the ex-protocol officer of former premier for the registration of her murder FIR against former President Pervez Musharraf, then Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervez Elahi and PPP leaders and incumbent federal ministers Rehman Malik and Dr Baber Awan.

Justice Khosa apprised the lawyers representing the petitioner that he would not hear the case as his brother is investigating into the murder of slain chairperson of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in capacity of the office of DG FIA he holds at present, terming it inappropriate for himself to hear the case.

He said that the case has been sent to the Chief Justice Lahore High Court for the designation of a new judge for the hearing.
