Car Bomb Blast In Peshawar, Eight Killed
PESHAWAR: A car bomb blast at Mall Road in Saddar area of Peshawar on Saturday killed at least eight persons and wounded 30 others.
DCO Peshawar Sahibzada Anis has said that eight persons have been killed in Peshawar car bomb attack, while 30 others were injured.
According to military sources around 50 injured have been transferred to CMH Peshawar.
The blast damaged nearby buildings and destroyed dozens of vehicles in the area.
After the blast in front of the Cantonment Plaza 25 injured were transferred to the Lady Reading hospital of Peshawar. Eight of the injured in hospital said to be in a critical condition.
Clouds of smoke seen rising from the place of the explosion.
The military was called after the blast for assistance in the relief operations. The forces have cordoned off the area.
According to Police sources two suspects have been arrested.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani have condemned the attack in Peshawar. President Zardari in a message from New York said Pakistan will continue to be the front line State in the global war against terror and incidents like these could not deter it from fighting the extremists and terrorists.
Prime Minister Gilani has ordered for probe of the incident.
