Car bomb in Lakki Marwat kills 19

LAKKI MARWAT: At least 19 people, including nine policemen, were killed and several others injured following a powerful suicide car bomb attack at a police station in Lakki Marwat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa early Monday morning, said hospital sources.

According to hospital sources, there were also 24 people injured in the blast. Some of them were said to be in serious condition.

According to reports, an explosive-laden vehicle rammed into the rear wall of a police station, which was reportedly housing an estimated 40 to 50 policemen at the time.

The attacker chose the rear wall of the police station as the target due to the fact that the front and side walls were heavily guarded, police sources said, adding that they have cordoned off the area launched a search operation.
