Chrysler Recall 2010: Over half a million vehicles in major recall
Chrysler to recall about 600,000 Jeep Wranglers and Chrysler and Dodge minivans due to brake or wiring problems, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The NHTSA website said that Chrysler is going to recall 288,968 Jeep Wranglers and 284,831 Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country minivans.

The Chrysler recall list includes 2006 through 2010 Wrangler models because of potential brake fluid leak that may lead to partial loss of brakes.
“A BRAKE FLUID LEAK CAN CAUSE PARTIAL LOSS OF SERVICE BRAKES AT THE AFFECTED WHEEL INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.”
284,831 Chrysler Town and Country minivans and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans for model years 2008 and 2009 have problems with the electrical system, while 288,968 Chrysler Jeep Wranglers from model year 2007 to 2010 have the brake fluid mentioned in the Government’s site.
Although Chrysler have no reports so far of any incidents or accidents regarding the safety issue repairs should begin this month, according to a report on Bloomberg Business Week by Jeff Plungis. The number to call is 1-800-853-14903 or you can take a look at the NHTSA website.
Along with this 284,831 Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country minivans are also being recalled. The models in question are from 2008 and 2009 and the issue is with a sliding-door hinge that could wear through wire insulation, leading to a fire.
Chrysler also issued a return to base for 284,831 Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country minivans from the 2008 and 2009 model years. A sliding-door hinge can wear through wire insulation, causing a short circuit and possible fire, says the NHTSA.
