Democracy Not at Risk: Nawaz Sharif

LAHORE, Pakistan News: Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) Chief Mian Nawaz Sharif Tuesday said Karachi tragedy is a huge and heinous conspiracy to enervate Pakistan.

Talking to newsmen, he expressed deep grief and sorrow over the tragedy that befell mourning procession yesterday taken out in connection with Yaum-e-Ashur.

Nawaz said the nation will brave quite courageously the conspiracy meant for debilitating the country and he is sure that the nation will emerge as victorious in their bid against terrorists.

Responding a query, he said the democracy is not at stake at all, if any danger seems befalling the democracy, the PML-N would be the first to come out, adding it would be the sheer undemocratic attitude that may jeopardize the democracy.

The democracy will succeed only if we adopt democratic attitude; otherwise, the status quo will maintain its pace as it is and the others will try to capitalize on the situation, he remarked.

Stressing on the immediate abolishment of amendments effected by the dictator in the Constitution, he said these amendments caused great damage to the country.
