Gilani, Nawaz Agree To Work For Political Stability

Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani and PML (N) leader Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif held a meeting and agreed to work for political stability.

The leaders also agreed that all outstanding issues should also be resolved in accordance with Charter of Democracy. During the meeting, they took review of the current political, economic and security situation in the country.
The two leaders also emphasized the need for closer contacts among all the political forces to strengthen the democratic institutions. The Prime Minister reiterated his government’s firm resolve towards reconciliation process to forge political harmony. He said that it is the responsibility of all the state institutions to provide relief to the people and improve the quality of life of the common man. He said the government attaches high priority and importance to ensuring transparency and good governance at all levels.
Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif stressed for early implementation on the Charter of Democracy by removing all undemocratic clauses in the constitution introduced during the dictatorial regimes.
