Govt Agree fogive To Blochistan Activists
ISLAMABAD: The government on Thursday agreed taking various measures to resolve the Balochistan issue and steer the province of sense of deprivation by bringing Baloch people to the national mainstream.
According to the channel sources in president house, President Zardari has been advised that in the next phase of announcing the decision of halting cantonments’ construction in Balochistan, Zardari should announce pardon for activists of political and nationalist parties in the province under Article 45 of the Constitution.
Reportedly, the president has approved the recommendations; however, the government looking to send these proposals to political parties for tabling as a resolution in the National Assembly.
Earlier, on Tuesday, in a panel interview to state news agency, the president had stressed for a collective parliamentary decision to address the Balochistan issues, saying constitutional cure for Balochistan’s problems would be more effective.
“The parliament should collectively take a decision rather than a presidential pardon which would probably give temporary relief to the province’s issues,” the President had said.
He had said the party apologized for the wrong-doings incurred to the province during General Pervez Musharraf’s era. It is just one mannerism of accepting the collective responsibility again for rest of the three provinces, he added.
