Govt begins operation against illegal Madrassas in IslamabadLahore, Pakistan: The government has launched crackdown against unregistered Madrassas in Islamabad as law enforcement agencies arrested 5 suspected persons during a raid on a Madrasah in Islamabad.

The decision to launch operation against unregistered Madrassas was made during a meeting of Interior Ministry. According to sources, there are more than 18 Madrassas in Islamabad and its neighboring areas. As part of the operation, the law enforcement agencies raided Jamia Muhammadia situated in sector F-6/4 of Islamabad and arrested 5 suspects after surrounding the Madrasah.

The government had directed all Madrassas to complete their registration a month earlier.
