Govt Started New Projects For Overcoming The Power Crisis
SHEIKHUPURA: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said the government has started some new power projects, which will go a long way in overcoming the power crisis in Pakistan.
Addressing the ceremony on the inauguration of a private 225 Megawatts Atlas Power Plant here, he said his government has accepted the challenge to overcome the power crisis, adding the government knows the severity of the crisis.
This power plant will be instrumental to add more 225 MW in the national grid, he said, adding the government does not intend to raise the power tariffs at the moment.
All the rental plants will be installed only after a complete study, the PM said.
He said the government has constituted NFC Award that will soon be announced.
Commenting on the statement of Mian Nawaz Sharif, the PM Gilani said Army is not a stumbling block in the way for former Pervez Musharraf’s trial, as Army has nothing to do with it, adding the law would have its due course in this connection.
Later on talking to media, he said the Pak Army will stay back in Swat to cope with any remnant pockets of resistance there, adding the most areas of Swat is in possession of Pak security forces.
Responding a question regarding the letter written by Shahbaz Sharif about the behaviour of Punjab Governor Salman Taseer, the PM Gilani said he is not informed on the topic.
