Ilyas Kaashmiri’s Death Confirmed By US In Drone Attack

PESHAWAR: US intelligence sources have issued confirmation of death of terrorist commander Ilyas Kaashmiri in US drone attack conducted on September 7 in South Waziristan Agency (SWA).
According to sources, Ilyas Kaashmiri was standing at fourth position amongst most wanted terrorist list while Molana Fazlullah tops the list following death of Baitullah Mehsud whereas Hikmatullah Mehsud and Qari Hussain Mehsud stand at second and third post respectively.
Kaashmiri was founder leader of Harkatul Islam, a religious outfit based in Azad Kashmir, who had been once sent behind the bars and tried on charges of plotting suicide attack on former president Pervez Musharraf but was released, as he was declared not guilty.
Subsequently, he went in hiding in SWA and was killed in US drone strike on September 7, sources added.
Ilyas was also wanted in cases of terrorist attacks, sources concluded.
