For cricket crazy Delhiites the 3rd ODI between India and Australia should be great fun. With India back to their best performance and the team faring particularly well in their last match in Vadodara, the enthusiasm is very high today.
With India being favorite to go up 2-1 against Australia following today’s match, as people are sure that the Indian batsmen including Dhoni, Gautam Gambhir and Raina would continue to produce firework against Australian with the bat.(Update at 3:32 pm: At the end of 13th over Australia were playing at 60 without losing any wicket. Ricky Ponting was batting at 25 while Watson was unbeaten at 35. Both seems to be well settled and Watson has started playing freely)
The local boy Sehvag’s return to form in the last game has also enthused his hundreds of thousands of fans in the Indian capital.
His quickfire 40 runs off only 31 balls had given a strong foundation to the Indian cricket team in their last match.
Sehvag who celebrated his birthday on 20th October is one of the leading batsmen in the Indian cricket team.
He is an aggressive right-handed opening batsman and an occasional right-arm off-spin bowler. He played his first One Day International in 1999 and joined the Indian Test cricket team in 2001.
In April 2009, Sehwag became the only Indian to be honored as the Wisden Leading Cricketer in the World for his performance in 2008.
Sehwag holds multiple records including the highest score made by an Indian in Test cricket (319), which was also the fastest triple century in the history of international cricket (reached 300 off only 278 balls).
