Ken Ober Dies
Ken Ober Dies, Ken Ober, a MTV “Remote Control” host, has died at the age of 52. The cause of his death was still not clear as of press time.
His talent agent, Mark Measures, told TV Guide his body was discovered in his home on Sunday. Suicide and foul play are not suspected and it looks like it was from natural causes.
Ken Ober’s career began in the ’80s. He had hosted five seasons of the music channel’s “Remote Control” game show, MTV’s first original non-musical program. He also fronted the channel’s “Club MTV” and “The Week in Rock.”
After his MTV stint, he went on to host other game shows, such as “Smush” and “Make Me Laugh.”
In 2002, he worked as a supervising producer on the comedy talk show “Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn.” He also served as a producer for the CBS sitcom “The New Adventures of Old Christine.”
Ken Ober, who was single, is survived by his mother, Claire Freeman of West Hartford, Conn.; his father, Burton, and stepmother, Iris, of Palm Beach, Fla., and a brother, Andrew, of Old Greenwich, Conn.
