LAHORE: While doctors are investigating the alleged reaction of cardiac medicines and consequent deaths, two more patients died in Lahore on Sunday, bringing the overall death toll to 28 over the last three days, TrendPK reports.
More than 100 critical patients are being treated at various hospitals of the city as the probe committee fears possibility of adulteration in cardiac medicines.
Reports said the patients, Muhammad Hussain and Pir Ahmed, admitted in Lahore’s Meo Hospital, died this morning.
Sources said the patients died due to low platelet and white blood cell counts after they were given medicines of Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC).
Public and private hospitals are receiving patients daily with low platelet, dark complexion, black spots on bodies and bleeding.
The government has formed a committee of doctors to probe the alleged reaction of cardiac medicines and consequent deaths of patients. TrendPK
