Local Government polls within 90 days, President Zardari

KARACHI, Pakistan News : President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari has assured the nation that Local Government elections will be held within 90 days reported on Thursday.

The President said that shifting local government system towards provinces is a new year’s gift, adding that local government polls will be held within three months.

Regarding Karachi Ashura carnage, President Asif Ali Zardari said that non-state actors are involved in it. He said that it was a reaction of his speech he made in Naudero in which he pointed out role of non-state actors.

The President said that there are intelligence reports that Baitullah Mehsud is behind the assassination of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.

Zardari said that military establishment is not against him. Opposition is not a friendly, and it is showing sense of responsibility.

He said that he knew that his popularity is declining, adding that political actors are working against the government.
