New LHC Bench To Hear Plea Against Bar On 3rd Term PM

Lahore High Court has formed a bench to hear the case challenging the bar on becoming prime minister for third time, which would hear the case from March 2.
The bench has been formed on the request by Advocate Tariq Aziz, which was headed by Justice Ejaz Ahmed Chaudhry. Other bench members include Chaudhry Iftikhar Hussain, Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed, Justice Umar Ata and Justice Iqbal Hameedur Rehman. The petitioner argued in his application that the bar on becoming prime minster for the third time was made just to keep some of the politicians away from politics, which was unconstitutional.
Earlier, the bench formed in this regard fell short of members after Justice Saqib Nisar and Justice Asif Saeed’s elevation to the Supreme Court.
