Pakistan: No Demands of ‘do More’ From Obama: FM Qureshi, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said on Monday that US President Obama did not ask to “do more”, adding that the government would act according to its own priorities. He said Pakistan was trying to convince the United States to provide drone technology.
Qureshi said, “We understand our problems better than anyone else. Pakistan’s stand is clear that military operation is not the answer. However, we can’t become hostage in the hands of militants.” He said President Obama’s Afghan policy was nearing completion. “The world is convinced that peace couldn’t be established in Afghanistan without cooperation of Pakistan,” he added. Talking about Pak-India relations, the foreign minister said terrorists wanted to increase gulf between the two countries but Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s recent remarks were positive. Pakistan understands the fact that the only solution of problems is the dialogue, he added.
