Pakistan And US Share Jointly Eliminate Terrorism

WASHINGTON: Pakistan and the US want to jointly eliminate terrorism from the region, Pakistan’s Ambassador to United States Hussain Haqqani said.

In an interview, Haqqani said that both countries were united in wanting to remove the threat of Al Qaeda and terrorists from the region and the world. He said the US also wanted to end terrorist activities to protect the citizens of Pakistan from the menace.

Haqqani said Pakistan and the US had differences over the strategy to eliminate terrorism, adding both countries were holding regular discussions over the contentious issues.

He said the US leadership agreed with Pakistan that terrorism could not be eliminated through force only, adding the political, economic and social development of the region should also be considered.
