Patrick Kane Arrest, Patrick Kane 21, the NHL’s best rookie in 2008, was charged with robbery and other counts following an altercation with a cab driver over a fare dispute in his hometown of Buffalo, N.Y.
Buffalo police said the 20-year-old Patrick Kane and a 21-year-old cousin, James Kane, had apparently caught a cab from the city’s downtown nightclub district at about 4 a.m. Sunday.
Both Kane brothers allegedly punched the cab driver and grabbed money they had handed him after he told them he didn’t have twenty cents in coins to give them their change, fare was $13.80 and they handed the driver $15, according to a report.
The cab driver suffered cuts to his face and his glasses were damaged after being struck in the face and head, police spokesman Michael DeGeorge said.
