35505b7bd8tution PM Gilani Vows to Protect ‘73 ConstitutionGARHI KHUDA BUX,Pakistan News: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has vowed to protect the 1973 constitution and sought help from the political stakeholders in this regard. Talking to the newsmen after paying a visit at BB’s mausoleum, the Premiere pledged to stick to the politics of reconciliation as was initiated by the two deceased leaders.
He said that the Bhutto family gave their blood to protect rights of the nation and to uphold democracy in the country;he pledged to continue their mission adding that Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto are the symbols of federation. He noted that country’s stability lies in two things: the 1973 constitution and Pakistan People’s Party. Gilani said that the government wanted to take all the political parties on board in every decision and urged all democratic forces to unite for the restoration of the 1973 constitution in its real form. The PM also announced to make Garhi Khuda Bakhsh a model village and gave directives to form a committee in this regard. Earlier, Gilani offered Fateha and laid a floral wreath on the grave of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto. He was flanked by Interior Minister Rehman Malik, Federal Minister Babar Awan and Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah.
Earlier, Bilawal Bhutto and his sister Asifa Bhutto also paid a visit to the mausoleum and laid floral wreathes on their mother’s grave. Security has been beefed up and around 2,000 security personnel have been deployed around the area to avert any untoward situation.
