PPP and PML-N relations are safe
ISLAMABAD, Pakistan News : The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has withdrawn from its demand of Zardari’s resignation after meeting between Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif Monday.
The PML-N has also accepted that the president has immunity from any court action while the Pakistan Peoples Party has assured the PML-N that they will hear the good news about 17th amendment soon.
According to details, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani stressed PML-N leader Shahbaz Sharif that they should not stress on demand for Zardari’s resignation.
Presidential Spokesperson Farhat Ullah Babar later confirmed that the PML-N has agreed not to demand Zardari’s resignation. He said that the PPP is doing politics of reconciliation and the party will continue with this policy.
PML-N leader Siddiqul Farooq said that the party has a clear position on NRO that those members and ministers of the PML-N who do not have immunity should resign. He said that we have suggested that Zardari should resign in his own interest. Now, he is the best judge of his situation and decide whether to resign or not. “Our party position is that he should not resign as he enjoys immunity under Article 248 the Constitution and no case could be reopened against him,” he added.
Meanwhile, PPP Punjab President Rana Aftab has said that the PPP is doing politics of reconciliation; however they have tolerated enough and now they will not tolerate any criticism on the president.
