Quetta Scrap Market blaze tamed

QUETTA: After the untiring three-hour long fire-extinguishing efforts, the fierce fire, broke out at an Scrap Market located on a Double Road in Quetta, has been brought under control late on Sunday night, Geo New reported.

CCPO Quetta told Geo news that the incident of fire eruption will be thoroughly investigated.

The ferocious fire gutted over 150 scrap and other shops before being put out within three hours, however, no loss of life or injury was reported, witnesses and fire fighting sources confirmed.

Meanwhile, the fiery scene is witnessing thick clouds of dark smoke surrounding the area, which have sent people in a great trouble.

Witnesses said fire erupted on a mini petrol pump, located at the back of scrap market late night, seized the entire market in no time.

Shops like motor workshop, scrap, spare parts and many others were completely gutted by fire besides burning garments and blankets kept in nearby storerooms.

Subsequently, fire tenders arrived on the spot and started rescue efforts, which took over three hours in bringing fire under control, they said further.

No clue has been ascertained so far which could lead to cause of fire eruption, officials said.
