SC issues detailed verdict of Iftikhar Chaudhry’s reinstatement

Lahore, Pakistan News :- Supreme Court of Pakistan has issued detailed verdict of the decision announced on July 20, 2007 regarding reinstatement of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry. According to the verdict, baseless allegations were leveled against CJ on Wednesday.

The 196-page detailed verdict of Supreme Court has been written by Justice Khalil Ramday and signed by 10 judges. The detailed verdict states that presidential reference against Chief Justice was baseless and all the charges leveled against him were false. It also states that Chief Justice was unlawfully suspended.

On March 9, 2007, Iftikhar Chaudhry was suspended by then Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf. Musharraf also filed a Presidential reference against him on charges of misconduct.
