KABUL: Afghan officials say four policemen have been killed and four others wounded when their vehicle struck a roadside bomb in southern Afghanistan.

The Afghan Interior Ministry said in a statement Wednesday that the four were killed Tuesday in the Reg district of Kandahar province.
Kandahar province is next to Helmand province where 15,000 U.S., NATO and Afghan troops are in the fifth day of a massive military offensive to wrest control of the town of Marjah from Taliban control.

KHYBER, Pakistan News: At least four persons died and several others were seriously injured in a suspected suicide blast in Khyber Agency.
The blast occurred in the Tirah valley region of Khyber Agency.
A suicide bomber tried to enter the headquarters of local group via the main gate and blew himself when the guard tried to stop him

Blast in Peshawar, 4 killed

PESHAWAR, Pakistan News: At least four people were killed and 10 others wounded on Thursday in a bomb blast in downtown Peshawar.
The blast occurred outside main office of Pakistan International Airline (PIA) in State Life Building – located at Mall Road, the main commercial area of the city.
According to preliminary reports, the blast occurred at a police check post set up outside the PIA office. The deceased also include a policeman, the channel added.
Police and paramedical teams arrived at the scene soon after the blast and rushed the injured and deceased to Lady Reading Hospital. Area has been cordoned off for general public as the law enforcement personnel were collecting evidences from the site.

LAHORE, Pakistan News: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that the supremacy of Parliament would be maintained, adding that he believes in an unbiased accountability and vowed to take everyone on board vis-à-vis the new accountability bill.
The PM stated this during a meeting with Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, who called on him at his residence in Defence, Lahore on Monday.
During an hour long meeting, both the leaders agreed to avoid political conflict in the country. Gilani said that the government would give good news to the nation regarding the 17th amendment soon.CM Shahbaz Sharif while talking on the occasion said that PML-N did not believe in confrontational politics and always preferred the national interests. Shahbaz also observed that the decisions of the constitutional institutions be acted upon in view of the country’s situation.

BAGHDAD: Police and health officials in the northern Iraqi city of Tal Afar say a suicide bomber killed a local council member and three of his guards.
A police officer in the city says the leader of the local council was driving in a nine-vehicle convoy when a suicide bomber walked up to the convoy and blew himself up Monday.
A doctor at a local hospital confirmed the account. Both spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media.
Tal Afar is about 90 miles (150 kilometers) east of the Syrian border, in Ninevah province. Insurgents frequently staged bombings there in past years.

WANA, Pakistan: US Drone Attack In SWaziristan, 4 killed, At least four persons were killed and four others injured in the attack of suspected US unmanned spy plane on Norok tehsil of Mir Ali in South Waziristan Agency (SWA) late on Wednesday night.
According to sources, the identity of injured and killed persons has yet to be ascertained but wounded men have been rushed to hospital for medical attainment.
Drone’s flights over the area are still underway, triggering panic among public, witnesses said.
