SP Ashfaq Anwer becomes approver in Benazir murder case
SP Ashfaq Anwer has become approver in Benazir assassination case. According to FIA sources, Ashfaq has held responsible three officers including CPO Saood Aziz.
Punjab government had constituted a joint investigation team for the investigation of Benazir murder. According to FIA sources, SP Ashfaq Anwer had recorded statements of Clause 164 in the court of Magistrate Farrukh Nadim Malik in Islamabad one month ago. Ashfaq Anwer said that he was deployed for the security of Benazir Bhutto but CPO Saood forcefully sent me to Koraal chowk and then asked me to reach in the rally of Nawaz Sharif in Sadiq Abad. He further said that SSP Operation Yasin Farooq deliberately avoided checking the security while SP Khurram Ishtiaq, on the direction of CPO Saood, ordered Rescue 1122 the hosing down of the site of Benazir Bhuttos assassination and SHO Kashif Riaz of Rawalpindi police station rejected post mortem of the dead body.
According to FIA sources, Additional IG Punjab Ch. Abdul Hameed and Home Secretary Punjab Khusru Pervaiz have been freed in the investigation and their names have been excluded from ECL. The hearing of Benazir Bhutto assassination case was adjourned till next week as the Anti-terrorism court judge was on leave. The special investigation team of FIA had to submit final challan of the case in the court today.

Lahore, Pakistan News : Supreme Court of Pakistan has reserved decision after hearing appeals filed against objections on former Chief Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar’s petitions.
The verdict is likely to be announced on Wednesday.
Justice Ghulam Rabbani heard the appeals of Abdul Hameed Dogar in his chamber and Dogar’s counsel Naeem Bukhari gave his arguments. The former chief justice had challenged restoration of judges in one petition whereas he had requested to review July 31 verdict in other petition. The registrar office of the SC had returned both the petitions with objections. Dogar had filed appeals against the objections on his petitions.

Supreme Court Expels Petitions in PCO Judges Case
ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan expelled petitions regarding judges’ case affected by July 31 verdict, after completing the hearing of maintainability of the appeals.
A 14-judge bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Muhammed Chaudhry heard the case of petitions of former judges of the higher judiciary. The counsels of former judges completed their arguments on the maintainability of their petitions.
The SC has accepted the unconditional apology by PCO judges.
Later talking to newsmen, lawyer of the former Chief Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar, Ahmed Raza Qasuri said that a review petition would be filed within two weeks.
