PESHAWAR: Taliban militants barged into the house of slain former union nazim, Abdul Malik, in Peshawar and opened indiscriminate fire, killing one person.
According to police, one person was killed in a late-night gun attack at the house of Malik’s house in Peshawar.
The deceased, Abdul Malik, was the chief of a peace lashkar.
Police is yet to confirm the identity of the dead person.
The assailants escaped after carrying out the attack. Trend Pk

Two commandos among 17 terrorists killed in Orakzai
PESHAWAR: At least 17 suspected terrorists were killed including two chief commandos in fierce clashes with security forces here in Orakzai Agency on Wednesday evening, sources told Geo news.
Security forces lodged crackdown against suspected miscreants in separate parts of Agency including Mishti Melah, Shekhan and others, killing at least 17 suspected insurgents including two top commandos, sources told reporters.
Two key militants were also among victims who were identified as commander Abdul Mateen and Abdul Malik, sources confirmed to media.
A total of 400 extremists have perished so far during five-weeks long operation being carried out by security forces in Orakzai Agency and as many as 500 hideouts were annihilated including 10 training centers, security forces claimed.
Corps commanders of Gujranwala, Pindi changed
RAWALPINDI: Lt. General Khalid Nawaz has been made Corps Commander of Rawalpindi, sources close to the Pak Army said.
Inspector General Arms Lt. General Jamil Haider has been appointed Corps Commander of Gujranwala in place of Lt. General Nadeem Taj, who has been made Adjutant General of Pakistan Army.
Militant commander among 5 killed in Orakzai
ORAKZAI AGENCY: Five militants, including their commander, were killed on Wednesday following a clash with security forces in Orakzai Agency.
Security forces carried out operation in various areas of the agency, in which five militants were killed.
Abdul Malik, a key militant commander, is among the dead.
So far, more than 450 militants have been killed in Orakzai Agency during the five-week operation.
In addition, 50 hideouts of the militants have been destroyed.

Peshawar, Pakistan news :- A suicide blast near Cattle Market in Matni area of Peshawar killed five people and injured several others including union nazim Abdul Malik on Sunday.
According to correspondent blast occurred near Sunday Bazaar and nazim Abdul Malik got critically injured in it. Matni SHO said blast was suicide attack and occurred when attacker blew him up after meeting someone in the bazaar.
SHO Riaz Khan told that eight or nine people were killed in the blast. Injured have been shifted to Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar. Police surrounded the area and rescue activities were launched after the blast. Sources told that target of the attack was nazim Abdul Malik.
NWFP Information Minister said blast was suicide one which killed 10 people and injured 15 others. “We will not bow before terrorists and eliminate terrorism no matter how many sacrifices we have to give for it,” he added. He apprehended that terrorism activities could continue in coming days.

IDPs Of Bajaur Refused To Return Home Till Eid
PAKISTAN, NOWSHERA: The Bajaur affectees residing in Jalozai camp of Nowshera have decided to delay return to their areas till Eid-ul-Fitar.
A jirga of shura of Bajaur affectees, political and military officials held at Jalozai camp1 ended without conclusion. Sector commander Lieutenant Colonel Rashid presided the jirga.
Political tehsildar Abdul Malik said the areas of Nawagai, Mamond and Khar have been cleared and asked the affectees to go back to their areas.
On the other hand, shura had briefed the jirga about reservations of affectees and said peace has not been restored completely in theses areas. Thousands of affectees didn’t get the cheques from Baitulmal despite card punch and previously announced Rs.25, 000 from ATM.
They demanded president and prime minister to launch enquiry about discrepancies. No identification process carried out by NADRA. Therefore, affectees have decided to delay their return till the resolution of their problems, it added.
