Law on fake cheque being misused: CJP
A three-member bench of the Supreme Court led by Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry conducted hearing of a bogus cheque case.
Ghulam Murtaza is accused of giving a bogus check worth Rs 1 million.
The CJP remarked that the law of bogus cheque was being misused and the trend was promoting corruption.
He said that imprisonment of three years might be announced for the criminal involved in bogus cheques, adding that the accused of this case had faced eight month imprisonment, yet his trial could not start.
The CJ accepted the bail plea of the accused Ghulam Murtaza and ordered to release him on a surety bond.
Ajmal Pahari sent on physical remand till April 2
KARACHI: Ajmal Pahari, allegedly involved in the murder of more than 100 people, has been sent on physical remand till April 2.
He was arrested yesterday with his accomplices during a raid in North Nazimabad.
Police said that the accused is involved in more than 100 cases of targeted killings and that he disclosed some important secrets while being interrogated. TrendPK
NICL Case: FIA directs to cease directorship of accused
FIA has directed Commerce Secretary to cease the directorship of the accused in NILC case. The process of Moonis Ilahi’s arrest will start tomorrow, trendpk.com reported on Thursday.
As per details, FIA has directed Secretary Commerce to cease the directorship of all accused in NICL case. Meanwhile the FIA maintained that there is no chance of Moonis’s coming back to Pakistan who is wanted in NICL case, after which the authority has contacted Interpol to arrest him. FIA authorities further disclosed that Interpol has been formally informed that the Red Warrants of Moonis have been collected and the process of his arrest will be started tomorrow.

The law enforcement authorities have declared the arrest of this militant an important and big success.
According to the law enforcement sources, the accused Qari Muhammad Aleem Khan confessed to install bombs at the locations of Ashoora procession and Paposh Nagar while, he also confessed that he planned Jinnah Hospital and Nursery blasts.
The sources further disclosed that the accused shifted from Chitral to Karachi in 80’s where he studied. Later on, he joined a banned organization.

An anti-terrorism court has awarded death sentence on 69 counts to Hameedullah Khan, who was arrested after the two suicide blasts outside Pakistan Ordinance Factories Wah in which 69 factory workers were killed.
ATC-II Raja Ikhlaq Hussain gave Hameedullah death sentence as he was part of a four suicide bombers team, which carried out two blasts outside the gates of POF on August 21, 2008.
The court sentenced him death for killing 69 people with a fine of Rs 200,000 on 69 counts, life term jail for conspiring to carry out the blasts, 10-year jail term on 44 counts for attempting to kill more people with Rs 100, 000 fine on 35 counts and 10 more years jail for injuring 70 people.
The court in the same case declared another accused Maqsood Ahmed as proclaimed offender.
Benazir murder case: Sauz, Shehzad handed over to FIA on 8-day remand
The Anti-Terrorism Court of Rawalpindi on Friday handed over Former City Chief Police Officer Saud Aziz and SP Khurram Shehzad to FIA on 8-day physical remand in Benazir murder case.
Investigation Officer of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) Asghar Jatoi filed the plea against both the accused in the Anti-Terrorism Court in which they requested for 9-day physical remand. But lawyer Malik Waheed Anjum opposing the request said that mobile was recovered from Khurram Shehzad so there was no need of further physical remand.
The court rejecting Maliks arguments ordered FIA to present the both accused before it on January 22.
Lahore: FIA raids Moonis Elahis office

The team of FIA Lahore wing raided into the office of Moonis Elahi, son of former Punjab Chief Minister and arrested his manager Abdul Maalik, trendpk.com reported on Monday.
Moonis Elahi is considered as a companion of Mohsin Warraich, a main accused of NICL case. The raid was linked as a continuation of the investigation of NICL case.Commenting on the incident, Moonis Elahi said that the action done by the FIA has disclosed the alliance of PPP and PML-N. Moonid also said that PML-Q will face all the allegations and is not afraid of any such cases.
FIA has managed to recover Rs 1.68 billion from NICL accused. Earlier to this the accused had deposited a sum of 600 million rupees; however the cheques of remaining amount of 80.04 million rupees have also been.
India Demands Access to Mumbai Attacks Accused

NEW DELHI: India has requested access to Mumbai attack accused arrested in Pakistan.
New Delhi wants to send a commission to Pakistan for probing into Mumbai terror attacks, local media reports said.
Indian authorities have also requested for providing results of the investigation into the incident and the record of the telephonic conversation of the accused.

Benazir murder case: Ex-policemen arrested from courtroom

trendpk.com: Police have arrested two ex-policemen Saud Aziz and Khurram Shahzad from the courtroom in Rawalpindi in Benazir murder case, trendpk.com reported on Wednesday.
The anti-terror court cancelled the bail of former CPO Saud Aziz and SP Khurram who were presented in the court. The police arrested both the accused from the courtroom. Earlier, FIA presented an interim challan in the court in which it nominated both the accused for the murder.
Hajj corruption: Swati submits evidence against Kazmi in SC
Federal Minister for Science & Technology Azam Khan Swati has submitted his written reply and the evidence vis-a-vis the Hajj corruption scandal in the apex court, trendpk.Com reported on Monday.

A 7-member larger bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry began hearing of a suo moto notice of alleged corruption in the Hajj arrangements by the religious ministry.
Senator Latif Khosa, the counsel of Hamid Saeed Kazmi, objected over Azam Swati saying as a cabinet minister he is a party in the corruption and demanded his resignation. Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammed Chaudhry wondered that the accused (Hamid Kazmi) is not offering his resignation while the one who is assisting the court is being asked to tender resignation. Justice Javed Iqbal maintained that no minister can commit such a huge corruption sans any back. Justice Ramday said that the ministry should have returned 1,000 Riyals besides other compensations. He said that the accused would be penalized.
Meanwhile, Federal Minister Azam Swati while talking to mediapersons, said that the accused would be penalized by the court.
God willing they would get befitting penalty; Allahs ire would befall these people (accused), the minister maintained. He said that he abide by the court orders and submitted his comprehensive reply in the court in black and white.
