ISI DG calls on Saudi King
Riyadh, Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) Director General Lieutenant General Ahmed Shuja Pasha has called on Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz in Riyadh.
According to a Saudi TV, ISI DG conveyed the message of President Asif Zardari’s good wished to the Saudi king. General Pasha also discussed matters of mutual interests with Saudi king, the channel added.
Pakistan and US have trust deficit: Hillary
US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton concedes that Pakistan and the US have trust deficit but said that trust had to go both ways.
In an interview with ABC TV she said Taliban were a threat for entire world and not just for Pakistan, Afghanistan. Pakistan cannot be completely safe unless Taliban are completely uprooted, she added. Clinton praised Pakistan army’s sacrifices in the war against terrorism, adding that she didn’t believe Pakistani government was protecting terrorists.
After her visit of Pakistan, Hillary Clinton met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to restore peace talks in Middle East. She urged that all the parties should resume unconditioned peace negotiations immediately. About Afghan elections, Clinton said that polls’ legal position wouldn’t be affected if Abdullah Abdullah boycotts the election process.
