Lahore: Roof collapse claims two lives
According to details, roof of an old two-storey house collapsed in Baghbanpura after heavy rain on Monday morning, killing two people and injuring seven others. Those who died were identified as 15-year-old Iram and 20-year-old Bakhtawar.
Rescue teams have shifted the injured to hospital from where they were released after treatment.

NEW DELHI: Rescuers using shovels, digging machines and their bare hands searched for survivors on Tuesday after a five-storey residential building collapsed in India’s capital, crushing at least 60 people to death.
Another 78 people were injured and at least 30 more were believed to trapped in the rubble after the collapse on Monday night, police and rescuers said.
“The lanes are very narrow. It is not easy for the (rescue) team to get there,” said Sheila Dikshit, Delhi’s chief minister.
She blamed the building’s faulty construction for the collapse and said her government would order a probe into it.
Local authorities said the building collapsed as its basement was waterlogged for days after heavy monsoon rains.

UAE Stock market recover after losses
DUBAI: The stock markets of Abu Dhabi and Dubai bounced back Sunday after heavy losses last week over Dubai’s debt woes, opening up 3.9 percent and 0.5 percent respectively and then surging even higher.
Dubai’s DFM index, which dropped 12.5 percent in two days of trading last week, was trading up 2.4 percent at 1,873.36 points half an hour after markets reopened following a three day break.
Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange strengthened by 4.4 percent to 2,686.47 points, after shedding 11.6 percent of its capitalisation last week.
