PCB Issued a Dead Line To Malik and Akmal
Pakistan Cricket Board has applied for increasing the deadline for announcement of 30 men preliminary squad from ICC and ICC had extended the date announcement of Squad. Pakistan team is in New Zealand and they will start their series with T-20 matches.
There will be three T-20 matches between both countries. So far ODI team of Pakistan team for NZ tour is not announced. It is hopped that it will be announce together with world cup 30 men squad. The team selected for NZ tour didn’t include the names of Kamran Akmal and Shoaib Malik in it.
Both played and performed well in domestic cricket and the decision was quite strange from PCB. Both players protested against the decision. PCB has asked both players to submit their Assets details to PCB before 30th December. They will have to submit all assets and bank accounts detail to PCB for considering them in selection.
There were doubts that may be it was ICC’s instruction not to include these players in squad. Now there is a chance for both players to consider for selection. Kamran was cleared by ICC from investigation against him for some world cup T-20 matches. He was informed by letter that he is clear for selection.
Pakistan trio to reach home today
The three Pakistani cricket stars including former test skipper Salman Butt, Muhammad Aamir and Muhammad Asif at the centre of fixing allegations on the tour of England will return home today.
A PCB spokesperson informed that the three stars have not been charged by the police with any offence. He said that they have fully co operated with the police into the enquiries and maintain that they are innocent of any alleged wrongdoing. The players have agreed with the police to return to England if the police request them to do so to further assist the police in their enquiries, he said.It is pertinent to mention here that the players, were accused in a Sunday newspaper of spot-fixing matches — such as deliberately bowling no-balls — in their current tour of England.
England beat Pakistan by 24 runs
Pakistan 250 all out
Kamran Akmal 53, Umer Akmal 43
England 274 for 6 (41 overs)
Davies 87, Trott 69, Ajmal 4-49
Chasing target of 275 runs, Pakistan fell short 24 runs and bowled out at 250 runs. All batsmen played well but failed to get much-needed victory in the first ODI against England in Chester-le-Street. Kamran Akmal remained the highest scoring batsman with 53. His younger brother Umer Akmal scored 43 runs. Shahid Afridi and Fawwad Alam and Muhammad Hafeez made 19, 39 and 30 runs respectively.
Earlier, England players presented aggressive game and made 274 runs in only 41 overs. Captain Strauss, Steve Davies and Jonathan Trott scored 41, 87 and 69 runs respectively.
Saeed Ajmal did his best with four wickets Pakistan struggled to regain control. Mohammad Irfan’s much-anticipated introduction into international cricket didn’t quite go to plan. Umar Gul also didn’t do any better. While Shoaib produced a superb and unrewarded opening five-over burst.
Pakistan press on after stunning Aussie collapse
LEEDS: Pakistan dismissed Australia for just 88 on the first day of the second and final Test at Headingley on Wednesday before building on their bowlers” work to be 148 for three at stumps.
Australia, after captain Ricky Ponting won the toss, collapsed in the face
of accurate seam bowling to their lowest Test total since being bowled out for 76 by the West Indies at Perth in 1984.
Pakistan”s three main seamers shared the wickets, with left-armer Mohammad Aamer taking three for 20, including two in the first two balls after lunch, in 11 overs.
Mohammad Asif had three for 30 in 11.1 overs and Umar Gul two for 16 in nine in overcast conditions that aided movement, but not excessively.
Tim Paine, last man out, top scored with 17 in an innings where Australia failed to cope with the swinging ball.
Salman Butt, the new Pakistan captain, then strengthened his team”s position as they tried to win a Test against Australia for the first time since 1995.
Butt, who made Pakistan”s only two fifties in a 150-run first Test loss at Lord”s last week, shared an opening stand of 80 with fellow left-hander Imran Farhat.
However, Butt just missed out on his third successive half century.
Butt struck eight boundaries, the best a backfoot drive off Ben Hilfenhaus through cover-point.
Hilfenhaus, who dropped a caught and bowled chance off Butt on 42, made amends by bowling him for 45 with a ball that swung back in sharply from around the wicket.
New batsman Azhar Ali, in only his second Test, started uncertainly but it was Farhat who fell next to end a second-wicket partnership worth 53.
Not for the first time Farhat, who batted for over two hours, failed to go on to a big score and was lbw for 43 to a full inswinger from Shane Watson.
And the medium-pacer, who took a Test-best five for 40 at Lord”s, made it two wickets for one run in 12 balls when Ali, on 30, edged an outswinger and was caught one-handed low down by diving wicketkeeper Tim Paine.
Ali”s exit ended a 79-minute innings and left Pakistan on 140 for three.
Ponting brought on Steven Smith only for the leg-spinner to be slogged for six by new batsman Umar Akmal.
Umar Amin was one not out and Umar Akmal eight not when bad light forced an early close.
Earlier, Aamer and Asif reduced Australia to 20 for two in the space of eight balls.
Left-hander Simon Katich, who made 80 and 83 at Lord”s, shuffled across his stumps in typical fashion and was struck in front by Aamer.
Veteran umpire Rudi Koertzen, in his last Test before retirement, gave him out lbw for 13.
Fellow opener Watson (five) was plumb lbw to an Asif ball that cut back and Michael Clarke managed just three before he was clean bowled by Gul.
Even Ponting, who before this match averaged over 105 at Headingley, never looked at ease.
He struggled to six in 41 minutes when he was lbw, aiming across the line at an Asif ball that nipped back.
Gul then had left-hander Michael Hussey lbw for five.
Butt, promoted from vice-captain after former skipper Shahid Afridi quit Tests after Lord”s, saw his hunch in bringing on Amin rewarded when the medium-pacer had Marcus North caught behind for 16.
Australia were 73 for six at lunch.
Two balls later they were 73 for eight after Aamer bowled Smith and Mitchell Johnson with swinging deliveries before Hilfenhaus survived the hat-trick.
The innings ended when Paine, in for an hour and 24 minutes, was caught behind off Asif.

Akmal Brothers set Australia huge target of 192
GROS ISLET, Saint Lucia: The Akmal brothers, Kamran and Umar, struck half-centuries as defending champions Pakistan set Australia an imposing 192 to win their World Twenty20 semi-final here on Friday.
The highest successful run chase in this tournament came on the same St Lucia ground when Sri Lanka eclipsed India”s 163 in their final Super Eight game on Tuesday.
In an innings that began with a Dirk Nannes maiden, opener Kamran made exactly 50 before big-hitting younger brother Umar followed up with a blistering 56 not out as Pakistan Pakistan amassed a huge 191 for six to register the joint second highest total in this tournament..
Pakistan, sent in by Australia captain Michael Clarke after rain delayed the scheduled start and threatened to bring the Duckworth-Lewis system, thought to favour the side batting second, into play, made a fine start.
Kamran Akmal and left-hander Salman Butt (32) shared a first-wicket stand of 82 in 9.4 overs and then 19-year-old Umar Akmal lashed four sixes in his 56 from 35 balls.
At the end of the six-over powerplay, Pakistan were 40 without loss.
Kamran completed a fine fifty, his fifth at this level, off just 32 balls with two sixes and six fours. But he was out for exactly 50 after David Warner, running round from the extra-cover boundary, took a fine diving catch off Johnson.
At the halfway mark Pakistan were well-placed for a large total at 85 for one and it, seemed that, at the very least, this would now be a closer match than the first round group fixture between the side that Australia won by 34 runs on this ground.
After Butt was out, Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi and Khalid Latif both fell cheaply but it scarcely mattered as 106 runs came in the second 10 overs.
Umar Akmal smashed Johnson for two enormous sixes, the second a crunching pull over midwicket that saw him to fifty in just 32 balls.
Should no result at all be possible because of bad weather, Australia will be in the final as they have won more matches at the tournament than Pakistan.
Whoever wins this match will face England, who beat Sri Lanka by seven wickets in the first semi-final, in Sunday”s final in Barbados.

Watson stars as Australia defeat Pakistan
GROS ISLET: Shane Watson top-scored with 81 as Australia punished lax Pakistan fielding to win their opening World Twenty20 match by a convincing 34 run margin here on Sunday.
Man-of-the-match Watson”s innings was the cornerstone of Australia”s 191 all out, made after captain Michael Clarke won the toss.
But the all-rounder was dropped twice and Watson made defending champions Pakistan pay by striking four sixes and seven fours in his blistering 49-ball innings
Together with David Hussey, he put on 98 in under nine overs for the third wicket.
Hussey dropped on 18 at long-off by Salman Butt, a relatively easy chance, went on to make 53 off 29 balls with five sixes and two fours.
Hussey was especially severe on seamer Mohammad Sami, striking him for 28 runs in the 16th over with the batsman striking four sixes, including three in a row.
Pakistan lost Kamran Akmal for nought to the first legitimate ball of their reply when he sliced Dirk Nannes to Steven Smith at short third man.
Salman Butt (15) miscued an attempted hook off fast bowler Shaun Tait and was caught by David Hussey before left-arm quick Mitchell Johnson”s second ball proved too much for Mohammad Hafeez, who pulled straight to deep square leg.
Australia, holding their catches, had reduced Pakistan to 34 for three inside five overs and they never looked like recovering from such a start.
Tait then had the satisfaction of bowling Pakistan captain and hard-hitting batsman Shahid Afridi for 33 before finishing the match by bowling Saeed Ajmal off the last ball.
Misbah-ul-Haq top-scored for Pakistan with 41 but that was never going to be enough by itself.
Afridi had only inherited the Pakistan captaincy after the fall-out from the team”s disastrous recent tour of Australia where they failed to win in three Tests, five one-day internationals and a Twenty20.
Earlier, David Hussey holed out off Ajmal and, three balls later, the off-spinner had Watson lbw.
There was an extraordinary end to the Australia innings with a five-wicket maiden during the last over from Mohammad Aamer.
Brad Haddin was caught off the over”s first ball, Mitchell Johnson clean bowled off the second with both Michael Hussey and Steven Smith run out by direct hits from wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal as they tried to run byes.
Tait survived the fifth ball but was bowled off the last for nought.
Left-arm quick Aamer finished with three wickets for 23 runs, with Ajmal taking three for 34.
Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by 21 runs in the first Group A match here on Saturday and both Pakistan and Australia will qualify for the second round of if the Aussies beat Bangladesh in Barbados on Wednesday.
