Akshay Kumar gives the title Son Of Sardar to Ajay Devgn
Few days back, we had reported that Ajay Devgn was all set to star in Ashwini Dhir’s next. However the film which was to be titled Son Of Sardar was facing problems with the title as the same was registered with Akshay Kumar, who was reticent to part with it.

Now it seems that the two actors, who have worked together in the past, have sorted the issue amicably when Ajay recently stopped by Akshay’s sets of Rowdy Rathore. If what we hear is anything to go by then the meeting proved fruitful as Akshay more than willingly gave away the title of Son Of Sardar to Ajay.
Confirming this, Ajay says, “I had asked Akshay for the title. The title was extremely close to his heart. It is a very good gesture on Akshay Kumar’s part and I am indebted to him for it. We will start the film in January.”
Sonakshi is the chosen one for item number in Joker
Makers of Joker won’t have to look anymore for Katrina Kaif or other A-league actresses for performing an item number in Joker. They have found one pretty much in-house, what with Sonakshi Sinha herself stepping in for a slot that was available for grabs. This well-thought of decision was taken last week by Shirish Kunder and Farah Khan who felt that there was no harm in getting their own leading lady gyrate to the tune of this ‘desi’ number that is expected to spice up the narrative of this Akshay Kumar starrer.
“This item number was recorded many months back but the hunt was on for the item girl. Though there was no one in particular who was sent any feelers since there are still a few more days to go before the song goes on floors, Shirish started looking at Sonakshi as a big option that was available right in front of them”, says a source from the film.
For the uninitiated, a few months back there were also talks of Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan being approached for the song. Since Katrina owes her biggest chartbuster ever, ‘Sheila Ki Jawaani’ (Tees Maar Khan) to Farah and Salman too has worked with Shirish in Jaan-E-Mann (and also done an item number ‘Wallah Wallah’ in Tees Maar Khan), everyone felt that this would be a cakewalk. However, once Katrina denied doing any such song, the hunt intensified to look for another big name.
“Yeah, everyone felt that Sonakshi herself could be groomed for this item number”, the source continues, “She has anyways done quite well in another song from the film, ‘Dance Kar Le English Mein’, where she has gyrated to a ‘desi’ tune and impressed everyone with her moves. Shirish and Farah felt that it would be good to continue the momentum by making their leading lady do the quintessential item number as well.”
On contacted, Shirish did confirm that Sonakshi was doing the item number. However he denied that this was an after thought and instead stated that options were always open for the coveted slot. “No one else had been approached and in any case this song was always supposed to be shot in our later schedules. Sonakshi is the best fit for the song and we would be beginning the shoot soon”, says Shirish.
There are some who are surprised though. After all, it wasn’t too long ago when he had supposedly asked Sonakshi to reduce weight for her further scenes in the film. One wonders what led to a change in mind.
“What change of mind”, Shirish gets a tad irritated here, “We took Sonakshi in the film for what she is. She looks absolutely fine and there is no change needed in her. Whatever you heard are just rumours.”
When told that this decision seemed impromptu and just a measure to soothe Ms. Sinha who is pretty peeved with the suggestions, Shirish responded stating, “That’s rubbish. People should stop imagining.”
Delhi Belly banned in Nepal
Just two years ago, Akshay Kumar starrer Chandni Chowk To China was banned in Nepal when it released. And now, just two days post its release, Aamir Khan’s Delhi Belly, which stars Imran Khan, Vir Das and Kunaal Roy Kapur has been banned in the Himalayan kingdom.
This ban ruling comes after the Nepal Censor Board recommended approximately five dialogue cuts in the film. However, due to non-compliance of the directive by cinema halls, which were screening the film sans the cuts, the board has decided to ban the film altogether.

Akshay to go international with Karate tournament

Last year when Akshay Kumar introduced his National Karate Tournament, it met with an overwhelming response, and this year too the entries have been pouring in from all over. The overload has been so unexpected that the organisers are apparently flooded with contestants.
Thanks to such unprecedented response and taking into consideration the fact that last year’s tournament winners went on to win a silver and three bronze medals at the Japan Karate tournament, Akshay has now decided on expanding.
Akshay, who is well pleased with the response, has since decided to take the tournament to the next level by inviting participants from across the seven seas thus providing a bigger field of techniques. For this aspect, logistically the organizers are planning on getting international talent from the US and other European countries as well as from most South Asian countries to participate in the tournament.
Whatever be the case, with Akshay’s international project Breakaway already on the anvil, this tournament just adds another feather in his already impressive hat.
Akshay Kumar inspired by Monty Panesar

The former con star will soon be a cricket star. Talking about Akshay Kumar who is donning the role of a cricketer for his next, Patiala House, actually did a lot of homework for it. The role was inspired from Monty Panesar who was England’s first Sikh cricketer.
Though there has been a contribution by a lot of cricketer’s like ex cricketers Paras Mhambre and Balvinder Singh Sandhu are among them. They have worked very hard on training Akshay to look and perform like an authentic bowler.
Akshay plays a Sikh bowler who wants to represent England in the cricket team but the story based on father son clash shows how his dad in the film who has faced a lot of racism is against the idea. The unit toll details from Monty’s life in particular as it was the most inspiring one considering his struggle to finally make it to the England team is a very powerful one.
Nikhil Advani, the director of the film, said, “Every piece of art and creative process is inspired by real life. We did a lot of research on the lives of cricketers. But this character is not inspired by one person.”
