Elderly man burnt alive in Faisalabad
The incident took place in Chak 228, a Sadar police station area of Faisalabad.
Muhammad Sharif was sitting in his house when his neighbours Tufail, Dost Muhammad and Mazoor Foji allegedly entered the house after scaling the wall and burnt him alive after sprinkling kerosene oil on him.
The accused then fled the scene. Sharif was brought to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The police have registered a case on the complaint of the slain’s nephew. No arrests have been made.

MUMBAI: Ranbir Kapoor, the new ‘It’ boy of Bollywood may have trounced favourites like Shah Rukh Khan and John Abraham to be voted the ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ by People magazine, but the actor says that he does not consider himself sexy.
The 27-year-old actor said that there are “a thousand things” wrong with his face and body and therefore the title is a total surprise.
“I really don’t know what sexy is. I am confused as I don’t consider myself sexy. There are a thousand things that are wrong with my face and body,” said the actor.
Ranbir who will be seen on the cover of the magazine shirtless on a beach, said that he believes in the old adage “handsome is what handsome does”.
“When I was growing up, my mom told me handsome is what handsome does. So Amitabh Bachchan is sexy to me in all his films, Shah Rukh is sexy in DDLJ and Aamir is sexy in Rang De Basanti,” said Ranbir.
The ‘Wake Up Sid’ actor said that the best part about the title is that he is now in the same league as Johnny Depp, who won the title internationally this year.
“I feel like I’m Johnny Depp,” said the actor adding, “I’ve had a good year so I attribute winning this title to those things.”

NEW YORK: Johnny Depp Wins His 2nd Sexiest Man Alive Title, Get lost, Hugh Jackman. This year’s “Sexiest Man Alive” is once again Johnny Depp.
Depp nudged aside Jackman to get the coveted endorsement from People magazine Wednesday. It’s the 46-year-old actor’s second time as “Sexiest Man Alive.” He also won in 2003.
Kate Coyne, senior editor at People, said on CBS’ “Early Show” that Depp has achieved an almost “iconic status in terms of sexiness.”
Says Coyne: “Johnny Depp was someone who was sexy 10 years ago. He’ll be sexy 10 years from now. He’s someone who appeals to multiple generations of women.”
Depp joins other double winners Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Richard Gere.
Matt Bomer, who stars in USA’s “White Collar,” was named “Sexiest Rising Star.”

TTP Chief Says In SWA Baitullah Is Alive

WANA: Taliban council will choose their chief within five next days, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) chief Baitullah Mehsud wants so, Taliban Commander Waliur Rehman said Monday morning.
Talking to a foreign news agency, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) South Waziristan Amir Waliur Rehman said, ‘We have thousands of suicide attackers, who can destroy their targets anywhere,’ adding Baitullah Mehsud is alive; however, he is seriously ailing.
‘Baitullah Mehsud has deputed the organization’s affairs to me two months back,’ Wali said, adding US President Obama and his allies are Taliban’s foremost enemies.
The security forces’ operation in Swat had no effects on Taliban, as they are still present there who moved aside to save the people from any possible damage, Wali maintained.
Ruling out any reports regarding the conflicts in Taliban movement, he said, ‘Our movement is active and effective with no rifts or difference within.’
Waliur Rehman said Taliban have mujahids on all the fronts in SWA for any possible operation there.

Wali-ur-Rehman Denies Shootout: Alive
WANA: A Pakistani Taliban commander who the government said was involved in a deadly shootout with a rival commander denied on Sunday that there had been any fighting and said both he and the rival were alive.
Wali-ur-Rehman, speaking to a UK-based news agency by telephone from an undisclosed location, also denied that any council meeting, or shura, had taken place to decide on a successor to Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan’s leader Baitullah Mehsud, reported killed in a U.S. missile attack on Wednesday.
“There are no differences. There was no fighting. We both are alive, and there was no special shura meeting,” Wali-ur-Rehman said.
Interior Minister Rehman Malik had said on Saturday that Wali-ur-Rehman had been involved in a shootout with rival Hakimullah Mehsud, and that there were reports one of them died.
Malik had challenged the Taliban to prove their leaders are still alive, saying physical evidence showed Baitullah had been killed in Wednesday’s drone attack.
Earlier, a rival group had claimed that Baitullah has been killed with 40 militants in drone strike and was buried in his house.
Haji Turkistan Betni, a commander of the rival Abdullah Mehsud group of militants, told the state television that the mastermind of the suicide attacks Qari Hussain was also seriously injured in the drone strike.
He said Mufti Wali-ur-Rehman and Hakimullah, two aspirants to succeed Baitullah Mehsud, were also killed along with their several aides in Taliban Shura meeting in a clash over the leadership.
