LAHORE: PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain says that he will not join the Muslim League factions if their objective is to attain power.
Speaking at a ceremony held to mark the Allama Iqbal Day in Islamabad today, Hussain said, “Pakistan is passing through a difficult time. If the nation doesn’t unite, only Almighty Allah can save it.”

Pakistan team home from scandal-ridden England tour

LAHORE: Pakistan cricket team returned home early Friday after a near three month long tour of England marred by fixing allegations.
Coach Waqar Younis said it had been a difficult tour “on and off the field” as he and some fellow players arrived to a low-profile reception at the Allama Iqbal airport amid tight security.
Pakistan lost both the Twenty20 matches and were defeated 3-1 in Tests and 3-2 in one-day matches by England. The one-day series against England finished on Wednesday.
Test captain Salman Butt and bowlers Mohammad Aamer and Mohammad Asif were provisionally suspended by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and questioned by British police over an alleged plot to bowl deliberate no-balls during last month’s Test at Lord’s.
The trio returned home earlier this month.

LAHORE: The Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore has reportedly installed Close Circuit Television (CCTV) in search cabins to scan women passengers, ARY NEWS reports.

Shoaib, Sania arrive in Lahore
LAHORE: Shoaib Malik and Sania have arrived in Lahore from Islamabad on Friday.
They reached Lahore through a PIA flight PK-391 which landed at the Allama Iqbal Airport and both were driven from a different route via Haj terminal on their way to hotel.
The newly-wedded couple was accompanied by Sania’s mother.
Shoaib and Sania were taken in a Corolla car instead of Limousine from the Airport while a large number of people were left waiting to welcome the couple.
Death anniversary of ‘Poet of the East’ today
LAHORE: The 72nd death anniversary of poet of the East Dr. Allama Mohammed Iqbal is being observed today (Wednesday) with utmost respect and solemnity.
Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal died on 21 April 1938 at the age of 60.
Special programmes, seminars, speeches, debates and tablos would be held at government and private level to pay homage to great services of Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
The newspapers would publish special editions and government and private TV channel would air different programmes to mark the 72nd death anniversary of Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
Allama Iqbal is thought to be a Sufi poet of modern age. Formation of Pakistan ideology is one of his greatest achievements as a politician that he presented in 1930, the same ideology resulted in independence of Pakistan.
Even he died before independence of Pakistan but he is considered national hero of Pakistan.
Bang-e-Daar, Baal Jabreel, Zarb-e-Kaleem and Payam-e-Mashriq are some of his great books.

Blind Cricket Team Reaches Arrives In Lhr
Pakistan Blind Cricket team arrived in Lahore after beating England in One Day series and a T20 match. Skipper Abdur Razak expressed hope to win the World cup and continue the winning streak.
Abdur Razzak was speaking to representatives of the media on return at the Allama Iqbal International Airport where he said, that five world records were made during the series in Sharjah. He said that the series against England proved fruitful in terms of preparation for the World Cup. He also informed that the blind team would tour Australia during November. He appreciated the news of Shoaib and Sania wedding.

IPL Row: Chief Election Commissioner Cancels India Tour, The government on Saturday barred the chief election commissioner (CEC) and secretary election commission from visiting India to protest the snubbing of the country’s cricketers at the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction.
The CEC, Justice (retd) Hamid Ali Mirza, and secretary Ishtiaq Ahmad Khan were about to leave for New Delhi at 2.30am today when they were stopped by the government at the Allama Iqbal Airport, Lahore.
Sources said the CEC had been invited by his Indian counterpart for participating in the 60th anniversary celebrations of the Indian republic. During his six-day stay in India, Mirza was scheduled to meet with a number of officials. Mirza and Khan later left for Islamabad by road.
Eleven Pakistani cricketers did not find any takers at the IPL auction in Mumbai earlier this week, sparking outrage in the country. As immediate fallout of this, the visit of parliamentary delegation to India was cancelled.

Pakistan News: Head of Minhaj-ul-Quran International Maulana Tahir-ul-Qadri has issued a 150-page fatwa against the terror activities in Pakistan on Saturday.
During a live video conference from Toronto in Minhaj-ul-Quran Lahore, Allama Tahir-ul-Qadri said that terrorists are enemies of Islam and suicide attacks are prohibited in Islam.
He said that acts of terrorists are a conspiracy against Pakistan to declare it a failed state and seize its nuclear arsenals. He said that this is the time whole nation should stand united against terrorists.

Rumors of my removal will die: Governor Punjab
Lahore, Pakistan News : – Governor Punjab Salmaan Taseer says he is not being removed from office, adding that rumors of his removal will also bury like NRO.
He was talking to reporters after paying tribute to Allama Iqbal on his mausoleum. He maintained that Quaid-e-Azam, Allama Iqbal and Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto wanted an enlightened Pakistan and PPP had the same thought. Governor appealed the people to boycott sugar, adding that he wanted to take all political parties onboard including PML-N.
