Construction of Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology stopped

Construction of Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology has been stopped on orders of PAF for it was started without any NOC. The Institute is being constructed parallel to PAF base, the reason why PAF has interrupted as the area is considered sensitive.
According to sources, a 4 billion PKR project to construct a 250-bed hospital was given to Allied Engineers. Punjab Govt., until now, has paid 500 million PKR to the construction company.
Secretary Health Punjab, Fawad Hassan was appointed Project Director of the Institute.

Libyan Gaza aid ship expected in Egypt Wed

EL-ARISH: A Libyan aid ship originally destined for the Palestinian territory of Gaza is now expected to dock at an Egyptian port on Wednesday, an Egyptian security official told media.

“The Libyan aid ship will arrive tomorrow morning at the port of El-Arish,” the official said, speaking late Tuesday on condition of anonymity.

“It has received authorisation from Egyptian authorities to unload its cargo” at El-Arish, the official added.

Israeli warships are warily shadowing the ship, the Amalthea, which was chartered by a Libyan charity and was intent on breaching Israel”s naval blockade of Gaza.

Suicide vest is vital clue after Uganda blasts

KAMPALA: Ugandan police pinned their hopes on an unexploded suicide vest Wednesday to help them track down suspects in the double bombings that killed at least 76 people watching the World Cup final.

The blasts that ripped through a crowded bar and a restaurant in Kampala on Sunday have been claimed by Al-Qaeda-inspired Shebab insurgents in Somalia, who called them retaliation for the presence of Ugandan troops in Mogadishu.

Police chief Kale Kayihura said a suicide vest — laden with explosives and fitted with a detonator — had been found packed in a black laptop bag at a club in Kampala”s Makindye district on Monday.

“We have established that what was found at the discotheque was in fact a suicide vest, and it could also be used as an IED (improvised explosive device),” he told reporters.

Several arrests have been carried out, but Kayihura did not specify how many, nor did he give their identities.

While the bombers” modus operandi appeared to support the Shebab”s claim of responsibility, the police chief pointed a finger at a homegrown Muslim rebel group known as the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF).

“Shebab is linked with ADF,” he said. “ADF is composed of Ugandans, Shebab and ADF are linked to Al-Qaeda.”

ISLAMABAD: State Minister for finance Hina Rabbani Khar has said the Friends of c Pakistan (FoP) would provide 500 million dollars to Pakistan by December end, adding, dialogue is in progress for provision of 500 million dollars under the Allied Support Fund for expenditures in war on terror and hoped Pakistan will receive it soon.

She was talking to media here. Khar said the government is facing difficulties in purchasing rice as it had to be processed immediately after purchase, which is the responsibility of the provinces and the government has assigned the responsibility to PASCO to purchase rice along with provinces and process it in their selected mills.

She said that keeping continuation in agricultural policy is difficult task but the government is trying to provide all available facilities and incentives to the sector, adding, the government would construct new storage houses at a cost of 37 billion rupees for increasing the facilities of storage of agricultural products.
