Indian actress questioned by ICC in spot-fixing scandal

MUMBAI: Bollywood actress Neetu Chandra has been questioned by the international cricket council anti-corruption and security unit regarding her alleged links with suspended Pakistani paceman Muhammad Asif in the spot-fixing scandal.

Sources aware of the ongoing investigations being held into the spot-fixing scandal involving three Pakistani cricketers, Test captain Salman Butt and pacers Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir, said Neetu had also been questioned by the ICC officials.

“Neetu’s name came up during a scan of the phone records of Asif and his former girlfriend, Veena Malik also confirmed that he (Asif) had links with Neetu,” one source disclosed.

He said Veena, who was also questioned by the ICC ACSU official in Lahore after the spot-fixing scandal broke out, had told investigators that Neetu was allegedly a link between Asif and Indian

Blast rocks Yaum-ul-Quds rally in Quetta, 45 killed

QUETTA: At least 45 people were killed and over 100 were injured when a blast detonated at a rally held to express solidarity with the Palestinian people in Quetta on Friday.

According to the details, Yaum-ul-Quds rally, comprising of hundreds people was taken out at Meezan Chowk, Quetta, when an explosion went off right in the middle of the rally, killed at least 45 people while 50 others were injured.

SAMAA reporter Noor Ilahi Bugti and cameraman Aijaz Raisani were also injured in the blast.

The deceased and injured are being taken to Civil Hospital. Dr Shabeer, the RMO of the Civil Hospital, also confirmed SAMAA that 22 people were martyred and almost 50 others injured. He said that the hospital management was ready to face such emergency.

Several injured have also been taken to the Combined Military

MIRANSHAH: US drones fired a barrage of 10 missiles into a compound in Pakistan”s lawless northwestern tribal belt early Tuesday, killing four militants, security officials said.

The strike hit the Lawara Mandi area, close to the border with Afghanistan in Pakistan”s North Waziristan district, which has become a bastion of Taliban and Al-Qaeda-linked militants.

“Five US drones fired 10 missiles, killing four militants. They targeted a compound and vehicles parked outside the house,” one senior Pakistani security official told media on condition of anonymity.

“We fear the death toll may rise,” the official added. Local security officials also confirmed the details of the strike.

MIRANSHAH: US drones fired a barrage of 18 missiles into a compound in country’s restive northwestern tribal belt early Tuesday, killing at least eight militants and injuring another five, security officials said.

The strike hit the Lawara Mandi area, located close to the border with Afghanistan in North Waziristan Agecny, which has become a bastion of Taliban and Al-Qaeda-linked militants.

“Five US drones fired 18 missiles, killing eight militants. They targeted a compound and vehicles parked outside the house,” one senior Pakistani security official told media on condition of anonymity.

“We fear the death toll may rise,” the official added. Local security officials also confirmed the details of the strike.

MIRANSHAH, Pakistan News: At least three persons were killed and another three were injured in suspected US drone strike in Miranshah on early Tuesday morning.0293a5c6dfilled US Drone Strike in Miranshsh, 3 killed

The strike took place in Aspalga village, some 12 kilometres (seven miles) southeast of Miranshah, the main town of the restive North Waziristan tribal district, officials said.

“A car was hit by two missiles, killing three people and injuring three others,” security officials in the area told media.

One security and one intelligence official at Peshawar, the troubled capital of Northwest Frontier Province also confirmed the incident, saying, “The missiles were fired from a US drone.”

7264fbe95ft week Foriegn Ministers Of Pakistan And India Meet Next WeekISLAMABAD: Pakistani and Indian foreign ministers will meet next week in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations’ General Assembly session.

According to the channel, Shah Mehmood Qureshi and his Indian counterpart S M Krishna in their meeting would discuss issues of bilateral interest, including the resumption of composite dialogue process between the two countries and progress by Pakistan on bringing the Mumbai terrorist attacks’ culprits to justice as per India’s demands.

Krishna also confirmed newsmen in New Delhi Friday that he would hold a meeting with his Pakistani counterpart next week in New York, the channel added.
