Supreme Judicial Council Meeting Underway
ISLAMABAD
: The Supreme Judicial Council meeting at the Supreme Court building underway with Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Mohammed Chaudhry in chair.
The council proceeding over the charges of corruption and irregularities against Sindh High Court judge Justice Muhammad Afzal Soomro.
The meeting was attended by Justice Javed Iqbal, Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan, Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Mr. Justice Tariq Pervez, Lahore High Court Chief Justice Mr. Justice Khawaja Muhammad Sharif and SC Registrar and SJC Secretary Dr Faqir Hussain.

Altaf Hussa Phones President Zardari
LONDON: 
Chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Altaf Hussain has congratulated President Asif Ali Zardari on successful foreign tour and release of innocent Pakistanis arrested in Saudi Arabia under drug charges.
In a telephonic conversation Altaf Hussain lauded efforts of President Zardari, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and Interior Minister Rehman Malik for release of five Pakistan nationals from Saudi Arabia.
Altaf Hussain also exchanged views with Zardari over the political situation and MQM convention in Punjab.
