Sialkot lynching: Brothers bodies to be re-examined on Sept.14

SIALKOT: On the orders of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, the bodies of the two Sialkot lynched brothers, Mughees and Munib, are scheduled to be re-examined on September 14.

According to government sources, the Supreme Court did not accept the earlier postmortem report and ordered for re-examination of the deceased bodies.

All the arrangements have been completed for the fresh postmortem and the bodies of the lynched brothers will be taken out from their graves on September 14.

The upcoming re-examining of the corpses will be done by a board of senior doctors appointed by the Supreme Court.

The newly appointed board of senior doctors will present its report in the Supreme Court after re-examining the bodies. SAMAA

US envoy to meet Myanmar opposition leader Suu Kyi

YANGON: A top US diplomat was due to meet Myanmar”s detained opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi on Monday as the ruling junta faces criticism over preparations for its first elections in two decades.

Kurt Campbell, assistant secretary for East Asian and Pacific Affairs, was scheduled to meet Suu Kyi and members of political parties as part of his two-day trip to the military-ruled country, a Myanmar government official said. Campbell arrived in Myanmar”s capital Naypyidaw on Sunday and held discussions with officials including Information Minister Kyaw Hsan.

Suu Kyi”s National League for Democracy (NLD) was forcibly dissolved last week under widely criticised laws governing elections that are scheduled for later this year.

The Nobel peace laureate, 64, has been in detention for 14 of the past 20 years. Campbell met her in Yangon last November when he became the highest-ranking US official to visit Myanmar in 14 years.

In her address marking the beginning of the budget session of Parliament, Patil said: “India is ready to explore a meaningful relationship with Pakistan if Pakistan seriously addresses the threat of terrorism and takes effective steps to prevent terrorist activities against India.” She termed the Maoist rebels as biggest threat for the internal security, however, she offered the rebels to lay arms and initiate dialogue. She warned that cross border terrorism in the held Kashmir valley could harm her country greatly. It merits to mention that Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao and her Pakistani counterpart Salman Bashir are scheduled to meet on Feb 25.

Seasoned batsman Muhammad Yousuf likely to be retained as captain for the upcoming Test and one-day series against Australia.

With Younus Khan unavailable for the tour and Pakistan coming back well against New Zealand by winning the second Test, Yousuf is expected to lead the side in Australia.

Pakistan are scheduled to play three Tests, five one-day internationals and one Twenty20 game in December 19 to February 5 tour.

Hajj Flights to Begin From Oct 21

KARACHI: The national airlines will begin Hajj flights from October 21 to November 21st, carrying over 1,26,000 pilgrims from Pakistan to Saudi Arabia.84f4b34cfdoct 21 Hajj Flights to Begin From Oct 21

The return flights from Saudi Arabia are scheduled to start on December 2 that will end on January 2.

The Hajj flights operation will carry 1,26,000 pilgrims in 296 flights from Pakistan to the holy land.

Managing Director PIA Capt. Ejaz Haroon talking to News said the national airlines first time starting flights from Sialkot on November 13. Around 3500 Hajj pilgrims in eight flights will travel from Sialkot to Jeddah, he said.

He said PIA will provide free suitcases to the pilgrims and they will be allowed to carry back 10-Litre Aab-e-Zamzam with them.
