PCO Judges Are Still Judges: CJ SHC

KARACHI: The judges who took oath under Provisional Constitution Order (PCO-1 of 2007) are still judges of respective courts and their fate would be decided by the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC), said Chief Justice of High Court of Sindh (SHC) Justice Sarmad Jalal Osmany here Wednesday.

He was talking with print and electronic media in the committee room of Sindh High Court Bar Association (SHCBA) on Wednesday.

“They are the judges but will not work till the orders by SJC,” he said refusing to comment on appointment of judges. “’The appointment of judges is a sensitive issue and not to be discussed like this,” he added.

Later, he cut a cake to mark the dawn of independent judiciary in Pakistan. All the judges of SHC available at Karachi were present at the occasion.
