Peshawar: DSP among three dead in suicide attack

Three people, including a DSP, got killed while 6 others injured when a suicide bomber hit a police convoy at Kohat Road in Peshawar, trendpk.Com reported on Monday.
The blast hit the mobile van passing at Kohat Road near Ring Road Bridge, killing three people including DSP Rasheed Khan, a cop and a passer-by on the spot.
Some six people also got injured, who were later shifted to nearby hospitals.
Two cars also got damaged in the attack. Law enforcement agencies threw cordon around the area.

Peshawar, trendpk: At least two people were killed while 15 others including 6 children got severely injured in an explosion outside a private school near Nauthia, Peshawar, trendpk.Com reported on Wednesday.
Police said that the explosive material was planted at a donkey-cart which was detonated later killing two people on the spot while injuring 15 others. The dead included the owner of the donkey-cart and a rickshaw driver. The injured have been shifted to Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar. Law enforcers threw cordon around the area.

Three persons were injured when a remote-controlled bomb hit a peace committee convoy in Adezai, a suburb area of Peshawar today.
Resultantly, three passers-by wounded. However, leader peace committee Noor Malik said that all the people boarding the car remained safe. Police threw cordon around the area immediately after the blast.

DIR, Pakistan News: Some six people including four foreign journalists were killed while several others injured when a blast took place near a girls’ high school in Koto, Lower Dir.
According to sources, inauguration ceremony of the said school was about to start when the blast occurred in which four foreign journalists among six killed. Many journalists including a foreign journalist were among the participants of the ceremony. Police and law enforcement agencies threw cordon around the area and started investigation. Rescue efforts were also kicked off. Lower Dir DPO Mumtaz Zareen said that a security forces’ convoy was targeted in the blast. It merits to mention that so far militants have destroyed several schools in Koto.

Pakistan is Capable of Carrying out Drone Attacks: FO
Pakistan News: Foreign office has said that Pakistan must be provided by armed drones; Pakistan is capable enough to carry out drone attacks.
In an interview with Reuters, foreign office spokesman Abdul Basit said that Pakistan is considering upon the offer of US for providing drones but we require armed drones. We are trying to reach out to Taliban at all levels and all of us would like that our efforts should bring some results but at this point in time it is very difficult to say, ministry spokesman Abdul Basit said. He also said that it was important that there be reconciliation at all levels and that Pakistan was helping in this regard. Whether or not our efforts will yield results, we will see, he added. We don’t want to discuss the specifics. There are efforts being made and we are trying to win over those Taliban or forces who are ‘reconcilable’. Let’s see, he added. Gates also urged the Pakistanis to expand military operations to North Waziristan but was told it could take six months to a year before this happened, said Basit.

Shooting in Karachi, 2 Hurt
KARACHI, Pakistan News: At least 2 persons were injured when some unknown assailants opened fire on them as they were sitting outside a hotel here at Rashid Minhas Road while the criminals were succeeded to flee, sources said.
According to police, the injured were identified as Mohammad Umer (18) son of Mohammad Ismael and Mohammed Arif (31) son of Mohammed Zain.
The incident was also reported at Azizabad police station and the injured persons were shifted to JPMC hospital for medical treatment.

Private School Blown up in Shabqadar
Pakistan News: A private school was blown up at Garangi, Shabqadar on Sunday.
Reportedly, two blasts took place in Iqra Public School, as a result of which the building of the school was completely destroyed. Police threw cordon around the area immediately after the incident. It was the fourth school being destroyed in a month in Shabqadar.

Taliban Attack in Kabul, 6 killed

Kabul: At least six people were killed while 18 injured in suicide blasts, rocket attacks and the ensuing clash between Taliban and security forces in Kabul on Monday.
According to information, a clash was triggered in wake of the rockets being fired by the Taliban on government buildings. Resultantly, three terrorists were killed. Afghan officials said that as many as 10 suicide bombers have resorted to firing after hiding themselves up in different bunkers. Some terrorists attacked the Afghan security forces; they were also wearing suicide vests. Afghan officials said that two assailants hid themselves up in a big store during a clash with the security forces while others made bunkers at different places. According to Arab TV, three assailants were killed in retaliatory fire of the security forces. Taliban claimed the responsibility, saying that presidential palace, offices of different ministries and central bank was being targeted. Taliban spokesman Zabeh Ullah has claimed that around 20 people have been killed in today’s suicide bombing. NATO forces reached the site and threw cordon around the area.

3 killed in Peshawar Press Club Attack

PESHAWAR, Pakistan News:Three person including a constable were killed while several people including the Chief Accountant of the Club injured when a suicide bomber struck outside Peshawar Club.
The suicide bomber tried to enter the Press Club, however, the constable stopped him outside the building where the suicide bomber detonated his explosives.
Police and security enforcement agencies threw cordon around the area immediately after the blast , while the rescue activities are underway.
Both legs of the suicide bomber were found.
The injured are being shifted to Lady Reading hospital, out of whom many are stated to be in a critical condition. A large number of journalists were present in the Press Club on the time of blast.
Meanwhile, the NWFP Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain condemned the tragic incident, saying that the attack on the journalist is equal to attack on the nation.
