Ramesh S Taurani files case against Deepika Padukone
Producer Ramesh S Taurani of Tips, who was miffed with Deepika Padukone post her last minute exit from his ambitious thriller Race 2, was prompt to take action against the actress.
Deepika’s impromptu exit from the film after having shot for a week upon being offered a Hollywood project, hasn’t gone down well with the producer, who on Thursday filed a complaint with the CINTAA (Cine & TV Artistes Association) and the Association of Motion Pictures & TV Programme Producer of India (AMPTPP).
The fact that just after her exit from Race 2, Deepika announced that she would be doing Rajinikanth’s next film Kochadaiyaan was like rubbing salt on Taurani’s wounds.
CINTAA was quick to inform the actress about the complaint filed in her name by the filmmaker. Citing her unavailability to not having dates and being over-committed to other projects, the actress also seemed indifferent to the developments after having left the film in the lurch.
As per procedural norms, if an artist fails to respond to a complaint or grievance, the case then passes onto the FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees). If still not
addressed, the artist is then liable to face a NCD (Non-Cooperation Directive).
Explains senior producer Pahlaj Nihalani said, “If Taurani has filed a complaint against Deepika, she will have to honour the dates which she had allotted to him. If she has given the same dates to any other producer, she cannot shoot for the other project”
Says an upset Ramesh S Taurani “I have been a part of the Hindi cinema industry for 25 years. I have made several blockbusters. But I have never faced a situation like this before. Our directors and the other actors are extremely annoyed with her. Tips as a company in its last 25 years has never had a dispute with anyone in this industry, there
is no single case in the association which involves us.”
Produced by Tips, director duo Abbas-Mustan’s Race 2 was scheduled for a November release.
Great painter Sadequain’s anniversary today
February 10, 2012 by Trend PK
TrendPK.com
KARACHI: Syed Sadequain Ahmed Naqvi, who is also often referred to as Sadequain Naqqash, or just Sadequain is being remembered on his death anniversary today (Friday).
The great painter of Pakistan, Sadequain was born in 1930 in Amroha, UP, India. At the age of 31, his work won recognition at the 1961 Paris Biennale.
Sadequain had a prolific career and much of his work is displayed in public places. During his life, Sadequain became a cult figure with a large following from all walks of life. The content of his work has wider appeal, and the early works addressed social evils. In the later decades, Sadequain used the unifying spirit of calligraphy to appeal to the masses.
Sadequain was responsible for the renaissance of Islamic Calligraphy in Pakistan. He was one of the greatest calligraphers of his time who transformed the art of calligraphy into eye-catching expressionist paintings.
In Pakistan, the art of calligraphy was relegated to a second class status until Sadequain adapted this medium in the late nineteen sixties.
Sadequain also painted in bold form the poetic verses of Ghalib, Iqbal and Faiz, which illustrate his love for classical literature. He belonged to the school of thought, which enriched realism with lyricism.
Sadequain wrote thousand of quartets and published them. Sadequain is the only painter who has been copied openly and widely by many painters and even the copies fetch large sums to the copiers, an irony since the artist himself hardly ever sold his works in spite of offers coming from the royals and the common public. As an example his masterpiece rendition of Sureh-e-Rehman has been copied widely by many known painters of the modern era.
The brush strokes stopped on February 10, 1987 in Karachi, when the greatest of the painters and calligraphists was just 57. Many have imitated his work since then, but he remains to this date a very class of his own, which cannot be imitated, copied or reproduced. TrendPK

London: Kate undertakes solo public engagements
Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, undertook her first solo public engagement on Wednesday with a visit to London s National Portrait Gallery.
The Duchess, also known as Kate, has recently become a Patron of the gallery. She attended a private viewing of an exhibit by artist Lucien Freud.
Kate studied history of art of St. Andrews University in Scotland, where she met and fell in love with Prince William.
The Duke of Cambridge is currently serving in the Royal Airforce in the Falklands. He is not due back in Britain until the middle of next month, so Kate will be spending Valentine s Day without her husband.
Instead she is spending February 14 visiting her chosen charities in Liverpool, northwest England. She will visit an alcohol free bar in her role as Patron of Action on Addiction. Then she will visit a children s hospital and tour oncology and burns unit facilities.
Brooke Mueller reportedly moving right along with rehab

TrendPK.com: Charlie Sheen’s ex-wife, Brooke Mueller, has been in rehab for a bit now, and it seems that this may be the time that it finally works.
Mueller is allegedly at Cirque Lodge in Utah, and after staying there for about a month, she is continuing her rehabilitation treatment a little bit longer, states TMZ. Mueller reportedly plans to continue for about another 30-45 days.
While she was completing the program through in-patient treatment, she is now allegedly renting a home nearby to adjust back to normal life while still going through out-patient treatment.

Cannon recently admitted that he’d like more children, although he may have some trouble convincing his wife to get on board with that, states Hollyscoop. “I would love to have more children. Now my wife on the other hand, I think the twins took a toll on her. She is like, ‘I ain’t doing that again,’” Cannon revealed.

“The Amazing Spider-Man” unveils its latest trailer!

By Sean O’Connell
TrendPK.com: When Sony decided not to air any “Amazing Spider-Man” footage during Sunday’s Super Bowl, fans wondered how long we’d have to wait to get a decent look at footage from the anticipated summer blockbuster.
As it turns out, the wait was much shorter than we anticipated … and that’s a great thing.
The studio on Monday held special screenings in 15 major markets around the globe, teasing a “Spider-Man” sizzle reel that showed off Peter Parker’s sarcastic sense of humor and gave fans their first look at The Lizard, the new villain played by Rhys Ifans.
Couldn’t make it to the invitation-only screenings? No worries. Sony has you covered. They just dropped the latest full trailer for Marc Webb’s “The Amazing Spider-Man.” We have it for you below:
I love it. Love, love, love it. Andrew Garfield nails the wise-ass tone of young Peter. The swinging effects look great. The Lizard could look a little more like the comics, with a pointy snout instead of the rounded head that Ifans seems to be sporting. But Peter’s line, about having to stop Lizard because he helped create him, suggests the “With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility” lesson of Stan Lee’s Spider-Man books.
If I had one complaint, it’s that Garfield doesn’t appear to be wearing his mask in the trailer’s final, eye-popping shot of the Oscorp roof collapsing. Why oh why do they keep making Spider-Man take his mask off in the concluding battles?! It was a MAJOR problem with the Raimi films, and Webb didn’t seem to learn the lesson.
The rest, however, looks fantastic. I think they figured out Spider-Man. Again. We’ll find out on July 3, when “The Amazing Spider-Man” opens everywhere in 2D and 3D.

Oscars: The Academy won’t perform “Muppets” and “Rio” songs at the Oscars – AWARDS ALLEY

By Sean O’Connell
TrendPK.com: It doesn’t matter if you are a Muppet or a man. The Academy still doesn’t want to hear your song on Oscar night.
The Academy has decided not to perform the Oscar-nominated songs from “Rio” and “The Muppets” at this year’s Academy Awards, according to Deadline. It’s the latest change to the awards format in an effort to shake up a telecast that has grown decidedly stale in the past few years.
“It seems like a huge missed opportunity to me, and we certainly tried,” one song insider told the site, while another added, “It doesn’t make sense. They could have so much fun with Muppets and Rio staging.”
The site adds that the show is not locked yet, and the producers could change their mind, but why? The show’s too long as it is. Keep cutting. Get rid of most of the categories. Hand out the top eight categories, and shift the rest to a separate ceremony.
When it comes to the Oscars lately, people want less. The ceremony needs to be streamlined, and if it means Randy Newman doesn’t get to sing “Muppet or a Man,” I’m OK with that.

Gisele Bundchen has reportedly upset New England Patriots

TrendPK.com: The New Englad Patriots not only had to deal with losing the Super Bowl, but they also apparently have to deal with Gisele Bundchen blaming all of Tom Brady’s teammates for the loss.
Bundchen was caught commenting, “My husband cannot f***ing throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time. I can’t believe they dropped the ball so many times,” which has reportedly upset many, states TMZ.
The team was reportedly disappointed in her placing blame on others as the men are a team and all play a part in every game.
Plus, they also reportedly felt like it was an unnecessary jab after they already had to deal with losing.

Neighbors reportedly started complaining about a party that was too loud when officers broke up the event going on at Monteith’s home, states E! News. It is rumored that the party was either a housewarming or a birthday.
Monteith’s roommate reportedly ended up receiving a citation for loud music, although the actor apparently didn’t.
