PM Gilani orders probe into Nato tankers attack
TILA GANG: The fire erupted on Nato oil supply tankers during attack from unknown miscreants has been brought under control after six hours of rescue efforts, Geo news reported.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has ordered investigation into incident.
Earlier, as many as twelve oil tankers, transporting fuel for Nato, were set on fire by miscreants also killing four policemen in Tila Gang area, RPO Aslam Tarin told Geo News Saturday.
He said unknown miscreants opened indiscriminate firing on tankers parked at a petrol pump at Mianwali Road in Tila Gang that triggered fire in the tankers and the pump.
Police patrol reached the scene and also came under fire attack. This killed a sub inspector and three constables. However, the miscreants escaped when police retaliated with fire.
The RPO said the area has been cordoned off.
Pakistan demands Kasab”s extradition
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has demanded extradition of Ajmal Qasab from India, Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik said.
”We have replied five out of 10 dossiers India gave and working on other five,” he added.
”India has provided unauthentic information regarding Hafiz Saeed and 16 bank accounts of Jama”at-ud-Dawa were frozen and 143 offices were sealed”.
71 extremists were arrested, 64 were put on exit control list and six websites were blocked over Indian information, Malik told.
Eight killed in NWA drone strike
MIRAMSHAH: Suspected US predators have fired three missiles in Markikhel area of North Waziristan Agency, killing eight militants, Geo News reported Saturday.
The strike took place at 9:00 pm (1600 GMT) in Marsikhel area, 20 kilometres (12 miles) east of Miranshah, the main town of North Waziristan, which is known as a hub for Taliban and Al-Qaeda linked militants.
The nationalities of the seven dead militants were not immediately clear.
Another security official confirmed the strike and the death toll.
US forces have been waging a covert drone war against Taliban and Al-Qaeda-linked commanders in the nuclear-armed country”s northwestern tribal belt, where militants have carved out havens in mountainous areas outside direct government control.
Washington calls Pakistan”s tribal belt the global headquarters of Al-Qaeda and the most dangerous region in the world. Islamist militants in the area are believed to be fuelling the nearly nine-year insurgency in Afghanistan.

Rawalpindi Attack Death Toll Rises to 34
RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: Rawalpindi Attack Death Toll Rises to 34, At least 34 people have been killed and 32 others wounded in the alleged suicide explosion in Rawalpindi Cantonment area, said spokesman Rescue 1122.

President Asif Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani have strongly condemned the blast.
According to reports, the blast occurred at 10:40 am outside door of bank near Shalimar Hotel killing and wounded several persons present in the area and damaged mangy buildings and vehicles.
The sources said there was long queue of persons outside the bank who were gathered to collect the salaries and pension when an alleged suicide bomber blew up himself.
RPO Aslam Tarin said suicide bomber was riding on a motorbike. Some body parts of bomber and a suicide jacket have been recovered from the blast site. A head is also found from the scene. Police have cordoned off the area as rescue operation is underway. Thirteen bodies were shifted to DHQ and 16 in different hospitals whereas three bodies transferred to military hospital, rescue 1122 sources said. Emergency has been imposed in the hospitals.
