Terror reigns Karachi as another 21 killed

As many as 21 people, including a private TV channel reporter and retired major, have been killed, while 10 got injured in the ongoing wave of targeted killing in Karachi, trendpk.com reported on Friday.

A retired army major Iqbal Kashmiri, an employee of Civil Aviation Authority, was killed in Gulistan-e-Jauhar. Unidentified armed persons opened fire on a bus in Orangi Town as a result of which 7 people got killed including a 7-year-old girl. The dead bodies have been shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital of Karachi. The deceased have been identified as M Ali, Jahngir Alim Dua Fatima, M Ishaq, Noor Hussai. A person got death in Liaquat Abad.

While in Liaqatabad, a private channel report has gunned down by unidentified persons. The funeral prayer of the assassinated reporter has been offered.

ANP Deputy General Secretary along with his body guard also got serious injured in a firing incident. Unidentified persons have killed 3 members of a family In New Karachi.

Security Stepped up in Lahore on Salman Taseer’s Burial

LAHORE, trendpk: Funeral prayers of Punjab governor Salman Taseer will be offered at Governor House Lahore this noon.

9c78eeffeers Burial Security Stepped up in Lahore on Salman Taseer’s BurialTaseer, who was shot dead by a guard in Islamabad on Tuesday, will be buried at Cavalary Graveyard.

Security has been stepped up and over 1000 security men have been deployed in Lahore.

The dead body of Salman Taseer, has been airlifted to Lahore and his funeral prayers will be offered after Zohar prayers today. Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and top political officials of the country will attend the funeral.

The dead body of the assassinated governor of Punjab was taken to his residence in Lahore, later the remains shifted to Governor House in Lahore.

Earlier, the dead body of the governor of Punjab, after post mortem at PIMS hospital in Islamabad, was airlifted to Lahore through C-130 airplane. Federal ministers Babar Awan, Rehman Malik and Qamar Zaman Kaira reached Lahore with the body. The dead body was received at airport by Salman Taseer’s son Hassan Shahzad, Chief Minister of Sindh Sayed Qaim Ali Shah and Fariyal Talpur.

Karachi killings toll mounts to 8

KARACHI: At least eight people hailing from various political and religious parties including Sindh Assembly servant and former councilor were killed today, Geo News reported Saturday.

According to police sources, some unidentified miscreants gunned down Abdul Aziz in Machhar Colony.

According to the spokesman of Ahle Sunnat wa Jama’at Maulana Ihsan Farooqui, Abdul Aziz belonged to their party.

A former councilor Shoaib Baloch was killed by some unidentified people in Malir City.

Some armed men killed Gulsher, 26 in Malir area of Saudabad. Unknown armed men opened fire at a vehicle killing Ramesh Kumar, a servant of Sindh Assembly’s PR Department and injuring his driver Saiful Muluk on Tipu Sultan Road near Najam Masjid.

Saif overnight succumbed to injuries at hospital.

According to police sources, the assassinated was the resident of Bahadurabad and the incident seemed to be a result of target-killing.

Another man was killed in firing incident in Bhains Colony.

A man, Rizwan Hussain was killed near Do Minute Chawrangi area of New Karachi; his body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

Some armed men shot down Bilal, 25, near office of a political party in Liyari area of Bihar Colony.

Hangu: Ex-Minister Ghani-ur-Rehman Assassinated

Interior Minister Rehman Malik has strongly condemned the incident and called for report on the incident from I.G. Police NWFP.
According to sources, a bomb was planted on the roadside that was detonated as former provincial minister Ghani-ur-Rehman’s vehicle arrived. The vehicle has been completely destroyed. Attiq-ur-Rehman told that a similar attempt was made on his father earlier also but he survived. Commissioner Kohat Khalid Umer told that the blast was target killing incident.
Ghani-ur-Rehman was politically associated with Pakistan People’s Party- Sherpao.

The dead bodies of the assassinated tribal chiefs were found from various parts of Bannu today morning.

Meanwhile four dead bodies have been moved to Bannu District Hospital and investigations are underway.
