Faisal Shahzad cooperating with authorities
A letter, dated May 12, sent by American attorney office written by Chief Judge Loretta A. Preska, has revealed that Shahzad is cooperating with the authorities.
Hundreds of American security agents were deployed in different cities to prevent future attacks, prosecutors said in a letter that was unsealed on May 20. The letter also stated that all efforts are being made to locate other members who supported Faisal.
Tension still prevails in Karachi; toll reaches 36
The situation in Karachi is still tense as so far 36 persons have been gunned down and other violent activities are also on despite Rangers takeover of the metropolitan.
Some educational institutes have been opened; however, exams in Jamia Karachi and Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology are postponed owing to the tension prevailing in the city.
The said varsities would reschedule their examination datesheet.
Hunza lake: 2,000 families evacuate Batgram
Hunza lake situation gets alarming as water level in the lake is just 3kms away from the spillway while Batgram administration ordered around 2,000 families to leave the area.
A 4-feet water surge was recorded on Thursday. The house of Gilgit assembly member Mudassar Shahs house in Gulmit has also been submerged.
The busting of the lake would cause submersion of Thakot Bridge made with a cost of Rs1billion besides Alai Power Project. DCO Batgram directed evacuation of the areas including Thakot, Kund, Shaltai, Anbar, Jhambhar, Korian and Otal amid fear of delusion River Indus.
Refugee camps have also been established in the said areas.

MINGORA, Pakistan News: At least seven persons were injured in suicide attack in the house of a provincial assembly member in Swat.
The attack occurred at the house of Dr. Shamsher MPA in which seven persons including the NWFP assembly member and his brother were injured. Shamsher belong to Awami National Party.
Indefinite curfew has been declared in the region after the attack, sources said.

Assembly Member Relative’s Suger Godwon Seized
GUJRANWALA: Gujranwala police have recovered 600 bags of sugar during a raid at a covert godwon of brother-in-law of PML-N member provincial assembly Sheikh Mumtaz.
According to cantt police station, in Raholi area, the sugar bags were loading at a truck to shift to other district last night. When police reached the scene and inquired about the matter, godwon owner Sheikh Irshad fled from the scene whereas police arrested his servant and people loading sugar bags.
The godwon has been sealed and police contingents have been deployed. Action will be taken against Sheikh Irshad under charges of hoarding. On the other hand, PML-N MPA disassociated himself from Sheikh Irshad and refused to talk.
