Gunmen torch 19 NATO oil tankers in Mastung

MASTUNG: Suspected militants attacked a convoy of tankers carrying fuel supplies for coalition forces in Afghanistan, torching 19 vehicles.
The attack took place on Sibi-Quetta Highway in Mastung District of Balochistan.
Fire brigade teams were brought to Mastung from Quetta to extinguish the blaze that could be seen several kilometers away.
Security forces reached the scene and cordoned off the area.
No loss of life was reported in the attack. TrendPK
Quetta: one killed in grenade attack
QUETTA: At least one man was killed and another injured in a hand grenade attack in Quetta on Sunday night, TrendPK reported.
According to details, the incident took place in Keli Aalmo area where unidentified miscreants hurled hand grenade at labourers working on a well, killing one man and injuring another.
The labourer killed in the attack was identified as Saheeb and was hailing from Sadiqabad, Punjab while the wounded was admitted to hospital.
Meanwhile, police said that the attack took place as labourers were fast asleep in a room when unidentified outlaws threw a hand grenade at them. TrendPK

BANNU: Five people have been killed and nine injured in a suicide attack on a police mobile near City Police Station in Bannu on Tuesday.
The suicide bomber blew himself up near a police van, leaving five policemen dead on the spot and nine injured. The attack took place at Chambeli Chowk near City Police Station. The injured people were taken to Headquarter Hospital Bannu for treatment. Trend Pk

LAHORE: Police have apprehended a wanted terrorist involved in Sri Lankan team attack Monday.
Qari hails from Waziristan, police said. Police have also recovered explosives from him.
The Sri Lankan cricket team attack took place on March 3, 2009, when a bus carrying Sri Lankan cricketers, part of a larger convoy, was fired upon by about 12 gunmen, near the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
At least half a dozen security personnel were killed and some Sri Lankan players got injuries. Trend Pk
Suicide bomber kills 10 in attack on Iraqi cafe

BAGHDAD: A suicide bomber blew himself up in an Iraqi cafe usually packed with Shi’ite Kurds in a town northeast of Baghdad on Friday, killing at least 10 people and wounding 30, a police spokesman said.
The attack took place in the town of Balad Ruz, roughly halfway to the Iranian border from the volatile city of Baquba, said Major Ghalib Attiya, a spokesman for Diyala province police.
The blast was the first major suicide bomb attack to occur in Iraq for several weeks, as political factions continue to tussle over positions and power almost eight months after an inconclusive election. AGENCIES

The pre-dawn school attack took place in Budhbir Town in the outskirts of Peshawar, where militants detonated explosives planted around the building, destroying two school rooms.
No loss of life was reported in the attack.
Police called a bomb disposal squad to defuse another six kilogram bomb which failed to explode.
Extremist groups have once again stepped up attacks on schools in Peshawar and other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkwa. SAMAA

KHYBER AGENCY: Unknown militants set several NATO tankers on fire after killing two persons, including a driver, in Kurram Agency late Thursday night.
The attack took place in Tehsil Jamrud, Khyber Agency, according to sources.
The NATO tankers were returning from Afghanistan.

KABUL: Five Afghan government soldiers were accidentally killed and two others wounded in a pre-dawn NATO airstrike on Wednesday.
The attack took place after a NATO-led International Security Assistance Force aircraft mistook Afghan National Army soldiers for Taliban insurgents during an operation in Ghazni province, southwest of Kabul, a spokesman for the Afghan defence ministry said.
“ISAF aircraft bombed and martyred five of our soldiers,” spokesman Zaher Azimi said. “We condemn this incident and regret that this is not the first time such an incident has occurred. We hope it is the last time.”
