Federal Information minister Qamar Zaman Kaira says no emotions flared in the speech of PM. He says some anchors show irresponsible behavior to such an extent that they use inadequate language, and rather than suggesting solutions, they divert attention from the problems which the country is facing in reality
While talking to Dunya News Qamar Zaman Kaira said that after watching the political talk shows in the evening, it feels that government would be gone by tomorrow. And that was the point that PM raised that they shouldnt confuse the people. He says PM is right to say that we lost precious lives for democracy.
Last Saturday PM delivered a speech in Achievement Awards Ceremony 2010 organized by Chamber of Commerce Lahore. Due to some loud and glaring voice of PM, some misconceived the speech to be emotional.

BERLIN: German Chancellor Angela Merkel was due to speak at an awards ceremony on Wednesday honouring a Danish cartoonist whose caricature of the Prophet Mohammed sparked sometimes violent protests by Muslims five years ago.

The 75-year-old cartoonist Kurt Westergaard, whose drawings of Mohammed that offended Muslims worldwide first appeared in Danish paper Jyllands-Posten in late 2005, will receive a prize on Wednesday evening at a conference on freedom of the press.

At a time of fierce debate in Germany over disparaging remarks about Muslim immigrants made by a central bank member, some media said the centre-right chancellor was taking a risk by honouring a man whom many Muslims believe insulted their faith.

Putin nominated for ‘Event of the year’ Award

MOSCOW: Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has been nominated for a music award honouring his contributions to hip-hop and rap.

Muz TV, which is Russia”s answer to MTV, nominated Putin, 57, for its “Event of the Year” award for his bizarre appearance last November on the televised final of a rap “battle for respect”.

The nomination is something of a surprise, since at the time Putin looked awkward and stood motionless among a crowd of teenagers as they writhed to a noisy rap song.

At another point, as a hip-hop groove played in the background, Putin delivered a speech that mixed teenage street slang with observations on the hip hop scene – about which he apparently knew little.

Critics dismissed the move as a cynical ploy to boost his already stellar ratings but Putin denied that, saying he wanted to reach out to young people to warn them of the dangers of drugs and vodka.

“It would be impossible to perform so-called low risk break dancing and still less high risk break dancing while on drugs,” the Telegraph quoted him as telling his teenage audience, without apparent irony.

The awards ceremony will take place in Moscow later this month, though it is unclear whether Putin will attend or indeed win.
