"We are looking it as a major live event for the common man with all key cast members" – Farah Khan
This ‘Sheila’ is making sure that her ‘jawani’ continues to relentlessly entice one and all. With a definite aim of toppling ‘Munni Badnaam’ and turn out to be hottest song of the year, the team of Tees Maar Khan is making sure that music continues to be the high point of the film’s promotional plans.
Resultantly, elaborate plans have been put together for a live show – all free of cost – designed for the ‘aam junta’ with Akshay and Katrina gyrating to the beats of ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’, Tees Maar Khan, ‘Wallah Wallah’ and more this Saturday evening. The event would be taking place at a prominent hotel near Juhu beach, Mumbai, and though it is not exactly a beach side concert, it is still in good enough proximity for the visitors to have a dekko.
Confirms Farah Khan, who can now be expected to plan an event a day as her third film enters its final leg of promotion this month, “We are looking it as a major event for the common man who doesn’t have to pay to watch his superstars from Tees Maar Khan. We are having a song and dance event near Juhu beach where all key cast members from the film would be present. A band would be playing songs from the film while Akshay and Katrina would be jiving to the beats as well.”
Though the team would have loved to host this event right on the beach, logistical challenges around the permissions and security meant that a hotel had to be booked to provide the services.
“Still, it should be worthy enough for the viewers as thousands of people throng the beach every evening in any case”, says Farah.
No wonder, a crowd of over 10,000 visitors are expected to stop by and check out what their stars have for an offering. Rest assured, if Katrina indeed goes on to get her characteristic jig from ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’ out there for all to see – that too live – it could well be an event worth remembering for thousands out there.

Hurricane Alex strengthens to Category Two

LA CARBONERA: The first Atlantic hurricane of the year strengthened to a Category Two on Wednesday, as residents of the Mexican Gulf coast and south Texas braced for it to make landfall.
Hurricane Alex rose one notch on the five-level Saffir-Simpson scale late Wednesday, the Miami-based National Hurricane Center (NHC) said, after Mexico evacuated hundreds of people from fishing towns south of the US border.
Alex has already disrupted oil clean-up operations off the coast of Louisiana, and US President Barack Obama declared a state of emergency in Texas late Tuesday.
Giant waves and strong winds were expected around the US-Mexico border as the storm churned westwards through the Gulf of Mexico, packing winds near 100 miles (160 kilometers) per hour, according to the latest NHC report.
Obama requested federal aid for relief operations after a hurricane warning was issued for southeast Texas and northeast Mexico.
Texas Governor Rick Perry issued his own state disaster proclamation for 19 counties.
Mexican authorities have already reported one storm-related death.
They evacuated some 2,000 inhabitants near the beach in the town of La Carbonera, close to where the storm was expected to hit overnight Wednesday.
Further north in the city of Matamoros, across from Brownsville, Texas, the edge of the storm already brought torrential rain which flooded streets.
Alex was some 80 miles (130 kilometers) northeast of La Pesca, Mexico and 105 miles (170 kilometers) south southeast of Brownsville, Texas, at 2100 GMT, according to the NHC.
The storm was well southwest of the area worst hit by the massive BP oil spill — the coasts of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida — though its strong winds have already caused problems for the cleanup effort.
It was not forecast to turn towards the spill, but severe winds have churned up waves that halted some cleanup operations and threatened to push more of the huge slick onto shore.
The NHC has warned that heavy rains could cause life-threatening flash floods, mud slides, and that ocean water could penetrate inland for several miles.
Tornadoes were possible over southern Texas on Wednesday, the NHC added.
Alex is the first Atlantic hurricane to form this early, in June, since 1995, according to the NHC.
Alex has already killed at least 10 people in Nicaragua, Guatemala and El Salvador over the weekend.

At Pensacola Beach: Tar balls, devastated locals and a big mess
PENSACOLA — The Gulf of Mexico oil spill continued to washed ashore Florida’s Panhandle on Saturday, stunning swimmers and tourists who began scooping the pudding-like globs into jars and plastic containers.
A few early risers strolled Pensacola Beach at sunrise, many of them fully dressed, carrying cameras or little shovels and plastic bags and hunting for tar balls splattered on the sand by the night’s high tide.
“We’ve already seen plenty of them,” said Tim Backues of Missouri, who stopped to see the sunrise with his family on their way to vacation in Panama City.
Said his wife, Amiee: “It’s disgusting.”
The high tide left the sugar white sand on the beach stained light brown by the oil, which first washed ashore on Friday.
The arrival of the slick in Florida came as President Barack Obama, showing a flash of anger that’s been missing from his earlier remarks, warned BP against “nickel and diming” Gulf Coast residents suffering economic hardship because of the spill.

During a day trip to New Orleans and Grand Isle, La., he sharply criticized the oil giant for reported delays in approving compensation payments while spending US$50-million on a damage-control ad campaign and planning to pay shareholders a US$10.5-billion quarterly dividend.
“They’ve got moral and legal obligations to the Gulf,” Mr. Obama said. “They say they want to make it right, that’s part of their advertising campaign. Well, we want them to make it right.”
He added it was “way too early to be optimistic” BP’s latest attempt at containing the oil spill would be successful.
Recently, BP approved 6 machines from Kevin Costner that they will test that recycle water. For more on that story, click here.
Recently, a new video of the gushing oil had many of the investigative teams calling BP untrustworthy because more oil was leaking from the well then they originally claimed. For more on that story, click here.
A Utah company has created a flour-like material that absorbs and eliminates oil from the surface of the ocean. The Utah company, Ophir Minerals & Aggregate Group sent several thousand pounds of the product to the Gulf coast are to be tested for possible use to eliminate the oil on the ocean’s surface.
Driftwood and seashells are rolling up on the Gulf Coast’s white sand beaches with a glaze of rust-colored tar this morning. The crude oil from the ruptured well deep in the Gulf of Mexico is showing up in greater quantities and farther east. As high tide retreated on Pensacola Beach today it’s left an orange stain on the sand. BP engineers are still working to adjust the cap they’ve placed over the leak to try to capture more of the oil.Meanwhile, BP CEO Tony Hayward assured investors that the company had “considerable firepower” to cope with the severe costs. Hayward and other senior BP executives struck a penitent note in their first comprehensive update to shareholders since the oil rig explosion, promising to meet its obligations related to the spill.
Frank Basson has a comfortable monopoly along the main drag in Grand Isle. He owns a restaurant, souvenir shop and daiquiri spot. Business plummeted once oil washed up on the shores, but he isn’t going anywhere.
He came back after Hurricane Katrina, and if he has to close his doors, he figures he’ll find a new venture. But he worries about the greater community.
“BP has to take care of us,” he said.

think for a moment that those insane viral marketing techniques will not be used. In fact, the viral chaos has already began with this trailer. At the end of this, you may notice that some letters or symbols quickly flash over the screen. Someone was able to freeze and reveal all of them, which spelled out the words “Scariest Thing I Ever Saw” and the website of the same name.

Palm Beach radio talker Rush Limbaugh swore off marriage after three ill-fated attempts at domestic bliss.
But that was before he met striking West Palm Beach resident Kathryn Rogers, a woman half his age and a direct descendant of founding father John Adams; Before she nursed him through a heart attack; And before she laid some balm on the Conservative firebrand’s bruised ego when the NFL rejected him as potential owner of the St. Louis Rams.
For once, El Rushbo is eating his words.
Limbaugh, 59, is set to marry the 33-year-old Rogers next week in an intimate ceremony at his beachfront compound.

Limbaugh didn’t confirm any details but asked for privacy in an email to Page2Live.
“We try to live our lives as normal people,” Limbaugh wrote. “We do NOT seek media attention, we do not want it, especially for this. It is very special, obviously, and we just don’t want any media attention.”
Rogers, a VIP liaison on the last two super bowls in South Florida, has been sporting a blinding sparkler on her ring finger for more than a year now.
No word yet on the guest list, menu or dress code but stay tuned.Kathryn, a VIP event planner, said she wanted somebody with a lot of experiences in life, and that, she have found with Rush Limbaugh. “Rush has such amazing experience”, she says from an interview. They maybe total opposites, but their differences could be their way in enriching each other’s life.

JONES BEACH, NY (WABC) — Nothing screams Memorial Day weekend like the Blue Angels at the air show at Jones Beach.
The crowd of nearly 150,000 people was not disappointed, but they were a bit nervous by what they saw.
“One particular aircraft looked like it was going to fall, but I’m glad it’s not me up there, I’d have a head ache and a stomach ache,” said Sara Morrison, a beachgoer.
Some people did have a bit of sticker shock, the fee for parking at state beaches is now up to $10.It was the first increase in years.
“It’s a lot, especially with this economy. Keeping it at $8 would have been fine,” said Regina Demasi, a beachgoer.
For most people, it was their first time out on the sand that was worth the money.
It was also the first time in the water for some beachgoers, although they can’t say they really enjoyed it, because it was too cold!
Lt. Commander Any Tomlinson of the Blue Angels says it’s just a routine day on the job.
“I’m a WIZO, a weapons systems officer which is a back-seater in the F-18,” Tomlinson said.
