ISLAMABAD: Hockey is Pakistan’s national game but this time it has not been included in the National Games therefore the Sports Minister Eijaz Jakhrani has taken the notice and has asked the Pakistan Olympic Association to explain immediately.
The spokespersons of the Sports Minister said that Eijaz Jakhrani was not happy over the issue.
On the other hand, Asif Bajwa, the Secretary of Pakistan Hockey Federation, told Trend Pk that such attitude with the national game was pathetic.
The National Games are being started from 25 to 31 December in Peshawar. Trend Pk
List of 242 NRO beneficiaries sent to PM
NAB has sent list of 242 NRO-benefited officials to the Prime Minister which has been sent to the Law Ministry for scrutiny.
This list was sent to Establishment Division two days ago which has now reached the PM House. The list doesnt include the named of President Asif Ali Zardari whose name was included in an earlier list sent to the Supreme Court. Interior Minister Rehman Maliks name has been included in the new list. Besides, names of former MD OGDC Adnan Khawaja and Principal Secretary of President Zardari Salman Farooqi have also been included in the list. Other key figures whose names are included in the list include Javed Talat, Pakistans executive director in World Bank, and Siraj Shamsuddin, Pakistans executive in Asian Development Bank. Similarly, names of three ambassadors are also included in the list. These are Pakistans ambassador in Iran Maula Bakhsh Abbasi, ambassador in Britain Wajid Shamsul Hassan and ambassador in US Hussain Haqqani. Pir Mukarram Shah, ex-husband of Farzana Raja is also NRO beneficiary.
The PM told the Senate that this list has been sent to the Law Ministry for scrutiny.
PM demands NRO beneficiaries’ list
Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani has directed the establishment division to submit the list of NRO beneficiaries within 02 days . Sources say that in future, these beneficiaries would not be appointed on any government post. It is also probable that the incumbent beneficiaries may be removed from their posts.
NRO beneficiaries’ list consists of 248 personalitiespoliticians and bureaucrats including Rehman Malik, Hussain Haqqani and UK High Commissioner Wajid Shamsul Hassan. National Accountability Bureau has already issued orders to re-open accountability cases after abolition of the NRO. Names of all NRO beneficiaries except president Zardari have already been included in Exit Control List.

Strike over fuel prices hits India
NEW DELHI: Police came out in force in cities across India on Monday for an opposition-led national strike over fuel price rises that disrupted flights and train services, and closed schools and businesses.
The strike was called by the main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and leftist parties in a concerted show of strength against the Congress-led government”s reform programme.
The unlikely alliance of the right-wing BJP and leftist groups broadened the strike”s impact, disrupting normal life in a large number of states with non-Congress administrations.
Flights to and from Mumbai airport were severely disrupted, with domestic airlines canceling 45 departures and 39 arrivals.
The Indian capital, which is controlled by a Congress administration was relatively normal, but with a heavy police presence on the streets.
Nepra gives KESC go-ahead for tariff hike
ISLAMABAD: National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) gave green signal to Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) to raise a total of Rs2.79 per kilowatt, Geo News reported Monday.
It should be mentioned here that the Company is already charging Rs2.18 per kilowatt in bills.
According to sources, the Nepra allowed the Karachi power company to transfer to the consumers the extra cost of fuel and line losses.
Under the scheme, the extra cost of fuel and 25 percent of line losses from July 2009 to May 2010, have not been included in the bills.
Suicide Attack in Bajaur, 12 killed
KHAR, Pakistan News: At least 12 persons were killed and several others were injured in a suicide attack in Khar Bazaar in Bajaur tribal region, reports said. Security men were also said to be among the dead.

The death toll in the attack feared to increase.
Security forces have cordoned off the area. Curfew has been enforced in the area after the suicide attack.
The firing sounds being heard after the attack. The injured were being transferred to hospital for medical aid.

24 Terrorists Including Muslim Khan Declared Proclaimed offenders
Pakistan News: A special Anti-Terrorism Court in Swat has declared 24
terrorists including Muslim Khan as proclaimed offenders. The court has ordered them to appear in the court within 7 days. Clauses 427, 324, 302, 937 SFA ¾ and 780 have been imposed. These clauses have been included in Dagar police station in Buner.

Australia announces squad for the first test
Australia announced 13-man squad for the first Test match against Pakistan. Middle order batsman Phillip Hughes and fast bowler Peter Siddle had also been included in the squad. The first match of the three test matches series would held on December 26th in Melbourne.
